Pilar in the Pantry: Healthy Foods

Hello Everyone!

I'll be the first to admit I'm not this major health fanatic, but I do like to eat healthy.  For today's Pilar in the Pantry post I wanted to focus on healthy foods primarily fresh fruit and 100% pure juices.

You may remember that I mentioned that I have chronic allergy and sinuses problems, so watching what I eat is important. There are certain fruits and vegetables that I can't eat due to food allergies, but for the healthy things I can eat I incorporate in my diet.

I recently started drinking these Seminole Pride Noble 100% juices in March. These juices are 100% pure juices which is supposed to be healthier for you. I won't lie these juices are a little on the expensive side. I've only seen them at Publix and the juices cost $3.99 per bottle. I try to catch these juices on sale (buy one get one free) and you'll save money.  The juices in the picture were on sale last month.

This juice is so good. It has the perfect blend of Clementine and Tangerine. I love how these juices tastes sweet and flavorful without making me feel sluggish.

If you're more an orange juice person, I recommend this Tangerine Juice. It doesn't taste like traditional orange juice, but it's pretty close in my opinion.

I've eaten a lot of tangerines and water for lunch and snacks. These tangerines are Halos.

More tangerines and I added some grapes.

Honestly I never saw the hype about Cranberry Juice Cocktail. I think it's really sweet and I just don't like it lol. I think that 100% pure cranberry juice tastes much better. I usually keep bottles of the juice in the pantry. Also if you ever get an UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) this is juice you're supposed to drink, NOT the cocktail juice.

I know this isn't technically fresh fruit, but I've also started back eating Pineapples. I don't really buy freah Pineapples, but my favorite brand of  canned pineapples are from Dole.

So delicious!

Yesterday I picked up seedless grapes and bananas.

Last, but not least I try to drink several bottles of water daily. It's not uncommon to find me with a bottle of water somewhere near me lol. Having allergies and sinuses problems, water is a must in my life!

What are some healthy fruits and juices that you incorporate into your diet?

  1. Those juices look really good, the tangerine one sounds nice. I love cranberry juice, it is also very tasty with a bit of vodka in it ;). I love watermelon, strawberries and raspberries. On the diet I'm on I can eat a lot of fresh fruit but if I make them into smoothies/juices then I have to syn them so I've been avoiding them at the moment.

    1. The Tangerine Juice is so good! I'm not a big fan of watermelon unless it's really cold and sweet! I like strawberries, sadly but I can't eat them. I would like to try more fruit smoothies!

  2. I really enjoyed this post, Pilar! Most of what I eat is fruit, so I liked seeing what kinds you like and can eat! I've never tried clementine or tangerine juice! I'm not a huge fan of orange juice from the store, but I do juice my own oranges into juices and love the way it tastes!
The fruit I eat the most and almost daily is bananas, oranges, apples, mangos, and kiwi!

    1. Thanks Ashley! I'm so proud of myself for eating more fruit! I mentioned this on my blog years ago, but I used to eat more veggies than I did fruit lol! I guess that isn't a terrible thing though! I wanted to pick up some apples, but the apples in the store that day didn't look all that fresh or appealing. Hopefully I can pick some apples up soon! Homemade juicing sounds good! That's something I've always wanted to try!

  3. I normally don't shop at Publix because they're too expensive, but I love it when they have major sales. I went today because they had Cambel's soups 10/$5. You have some delicious food here. And you can't go wrong with water.

    2. I agree Nerline Publix can be too expensive! I love to shop there, but I typically only get those 100% Noble Juices, fresh fruit, bread from the bakery, and their sub sandwiches. I drink so much water! I love it lol!

  8. This tangerine juice looks sooooo good. I've never tried it before. It's good that you're eating healthy foods lately, Pilar. I also eat healthy, but every now and then I crave in-and-out burger. : )
