All About Pink Makeup for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hello Everyone!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

About 10 years ago when I college, I had to attend an outside of class seminar as part of an assignment. I can't remember the name of the class, but I do remember that I chose to attend the seminar about Breast Cancer. During the seminar the speaker gave so much information and pamphlet about Breast Cancer. Some information I knew, and some I didn't. The seminar lasted about two hours and even to this day the important information I learned during the seminar that day left an impact on my life.

One of the local news channels has a buddy system where you call your buddy and remind her to do her monthly self breast exam. My mom was my buddy while I was in college...shes still my buddy now and she would always ask or remind me to do these checks each month. These self exams are good do after you have your monthly period as well. Women over 40 should be getting yearly mammograms or if you find lumps etc. Also for men reading, Breast Cancer can also affect men as well.

Urban Decay Elements Palette

This eye makeup look was created using Urban Decay Elements Palette.

Staying informed and doing these types of makeup looks are a few ways of showing my support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I kept this makeup up look very subtle. Of course pink was my focus color, but I didn't want to overdue it. This look is very wearable even though the lighting clashed with my eye makeup.

I used the pink shade, Dream Weaver in the crease and kept the rest of my eye makeup neutral with a winged liner.

My makeup look is completed with MAC's Pink Nouveau Lipstick. This is one my favorite lipsticks and one of my first MAC Lipsticks.

Love how the pink makup makes you pop. Very pretty.
I go every October to get my physical and breast exam. I never find it to be as bad as they make it out to be.
I had a large flued cyst they had to remove two years ago. It was harmless but it was lump and I wanted it gone.

The buddy system is great way to stay on top of those monthly exams. Early detection can save lives. And it's good that you mentioned that breast cancer can affect men as well. This pink makeup look is lovely Pilar!

I found out a few days ago that men can also have breast cancer. If I were to call a buddy, I would call my mom too. I love your makeup. Thanks for sharing this post with us.

It’s so important to spread as much awareness as we can about breast cancer; thanks so much for sharing. Beautiful make-up; pink looks good on you. I don’t think I can be able to pull off pink color make-up.

Love the pics and pink makeup to represent breast cancer. My family knows to well about this monster bc I have had multiple family members that have fought and I can say won against this cancer and other forms of cancer too. But that others aren't always able to beat it. I love the fact you wrote this post to spread the message about cancer especially breast cancer and showing support for those who are fighting this killer. Hopefully one day there will be a cure and know one ever has to die from this type of cancer again.

Thanks Lisa! I've heard women say the mammogram isn't that bad. I'm glad the cyst was harmless!

Thanks Rowena! I think it's a great way to keep up with monthly exams too! The self breast exams and mammograms are so important. I definetly wanted to mention that men can get breast cancer too.

Thanks Liana, and you're welcome!

Thanks Nerline, and you're welcome! My mom was the one who told me about the program when I was in college. I've known for years that men can get breast cancer too. I thought it was important that I included that information for men as well.

Thanks Paola!

Thanks Adriana, and yes it is!

Thanks Carole, and you're welcome! I think the pink makeup would look good on you! This is more of a subtle pink makeup look. The lipstick is a little bright, but if it's bright for your liking, you could always try a muted pink lipstick.

Thanks Juanita! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I agree men should get checked too!

Thanks Kristen! I remember you told me you had a few family members that had breast cancer and survived. For those who lost their battle, I feel the best way to honor those lives lost from cancer is to spread awareness and hopefully doctors, medical researchers etc, will find a cure for all illnesses.
