My Life in January 2019

Hello Everyone!

Normally I don't like January, it's cold, boring, and long. Surprisingly January didn't drag on forever lol. Since there's only a few days left in the month, it's time for the monthly lifestyle post of 2019!

Happy New Year!!!

My mama's birthday celebration. She loves cinnamon rolls too!

I won a Derma E Giveway

Such a beautiful and classic Victoria's Secret

SAS Haul Winter 2018/2019

Winged eye liner and vampy lipstick

My skincare corner :)

Anyone try this makeup brand? Joah is the latest brand I've spotted at CVS.

Hot cocoa in my new favorite mug

Sultry Makeup for Winter

Early morning errands

It's so peaceful inside Target... at 8am lol

A quick stop at Lowe's. I only visit Lowe's maybe  about twice a year

It's time for a lighting upgrade in my room. I like daylight lights better, especially for taking pictures.

I've replaced most of my Yankee Candles with Wax Melt Cups. The Wax Melt Cups throw so much better than most of those weak throwing Yankee Candles.

New crochet projects coming soon

Derma E's January Box :) I received mine a little late due to USPS, but it's here! I've written reviews on both of these products last year. These are actually two of my favorite skincare products to use. You can read my review HERE

Before I end this post, I want to take a moment and ask you to keep the residents of  the housing community Allen Benedict Court residents in your thoughts and prayers. The residents who lived in this housing project here in South Carolina recently had to leave their homes due to uninhabitable conditions. Sadly two men died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. My heart breaks for the families that lost loved ones and for the 411 residents that are now homeless (residents are living in hotels). This has been on my heart heavily since it happened. I want to use my social media as a platform to bring awareness to what these people are going through. This situation could have been avoided if officials (Columbia Housing Authority etc.) would have done their job to ensure the residents of Allen Benedict Court were living in safe and sanitary conditons.

Here are some of the links that contain information about the Allen Benedict Court

I'm so sorry to hear about all these people in your area, Pilar. That's terrible. Can you believe January is almost over? February is a delightful month, and with it comes a day of love. I like your wintery candles, and often light candles too during the month of January. And I know I've told you before, but that mug with the hot cocoa is so cute.

Wishing you many wonderful days in February, Pilar.

You've had an eventful Jan! Congrats on wining that giveaway. I loved seeing all these places, it reminds me of my time in New England a few years back. So many amazing memories. Will be keeping those residents in my thoughts. Neglect is just terrible and with such catastrophic results no less. I don't know how that management could sleep at night knowing this.

Thanks, and I agree. The people that lived there didn't deserve those horrible living conditions, no one does.

Thanks Sheri, and I'm glad local media is constantly covering what these people are going through. I've been noticing other states and social media has been posting about this story as well. Awareness is so important. Wishing you a wonderful days in February as well!

Thanks Sonia, and I don't understand how management, etc can sleep at night either. It's so sad.

January did go by fast in some ways but others parts of it seemed to drag. Looks like you had a busy Jan. Take care and stay warm.

What a January! This month really seemed to fly by. So sad what's happening at Allen Benedict Court especially when it could've been prevented with more stringent safety precautions.

What a nice month you had! That's terrible what's happened to the residents at Allen Benedict Court. I hope the residents get permanent house soon!

The last week of January seemed a little long! I hope you're doing well and staying warm Pam!

Pilar said...

Rowena, you're so right. If codes were kept up to date, and the well being of the residents this didn't have to happen.

Pilar said...

I hope so too Marie.

Thanks Perla. I felt it was important to continue to raise awareness about what's been going on. I hope you have a great weekend!
