Urban Decay Naked Basics Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Today I'm going to review Urban Decay's Naked Basics Palette. I purchased this during the Spring and it's such a great essential to have in my makeup collection. I really think I'm going to purchase the Naked 2 Basics palette in the near future!

Appearance

- Hard rubberized case that snaps together

- Large mirror

- Small sized palette with six full sized shadows

- Great for travel or makeup bag

- No brush included

My Thoughts

This is another great palette by Urban Decay. Unlike the other Urban Decay Palettes I have, this one mostly consists of pigmented matte finishes (except Venus which has a shimmer finish).

Swatches

From Left to Right:
Venus
Foxy
W.O.S. Walk of Shame
Naked 2
Faint
Crave

I'm glad I purchased this palette because I can use it everyday basic eye makeup. It literally takes me about 10 minutes to create most simple eye makeup with this palette. You can also use this palette to highlight your brow (i.e. Venus) or use some of the colors as transitional colors (i.e. Naked 2) to incorporate other eye makeup looks. This palette reminds me a lot of the Naked 2 Palette because some of the colors are very similar except without having the satin and shimmer finishes in th Naked 2 palette.

Here's a quick FOTD

Since it's a new season I thought I'd change my hair up a bit too with box braids and start wearing more red lipstick :)

Products Used

My apologies for not including pictures of all the products I used.

Eyes

MAC Paint Pot on whole lid as a base

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

- Naked 2 as a transition color in the crease
- Faint on top of Naked 2 in the crease
- Foxy on tear duct and all the of lid
- Crave on the outer V.

Benefit They're Real Mascara

Face

Fashion Fair Concealer Stick (Tawny)

Fashion Fair Loose Powder (Amber)

Lips

MAC Russian Red (Matte)

Do you own this palette? What are your thoughts about it?  Also if any of my blogger friends and readers have the Naked 2 Basics Palette is it worth buying? Like I mentioned earlier, I'm strongly considering purchasing it.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

This is a sponsored post by Cetaphil. All opinions are my own.

Today I have a review for you on these Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths that Cetaphil sent me (See First Impressions Post)

About the Product and Claims

- Mild, non-irritating formula Softens as it cleans

- Non-comedogenic/fragrance free

- Dermatologist recommended

- This gentle, soap-free cleanser was originally formulated for dermatologists, specifically for everyday cleansing of even the most sensitive skin.

- Ophthalmologist tested

- Soothing, non irritating cleanser ideal for face, hands and body

- Helps skin retain needed moisture

- Rinses easily and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy

- Mild enough to cleanse a baby's delicate skin

My Thoughts

I'm always open to try new facial cloths, especially for removing my makeup and these wipes met most of my expectations. Depending on the amount of makeup I used, it took about two to three cloths remove all of my makeup including eye makeup. Overall, I like them most to remove light makeup. These cloths are very light weight and I like that these cloths are fragrance free. These wipes give my face a clean and fresh feeling after using without drying out my skin. These wipes are good to have around in general because anyone can use them on their face, they're not just for removing makeup.

Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloth

The regular pack of these wipes are 25 count, and since I received the smaller 10 count and sample size, I can easily put these in my purse. The only cons I have are: Sometimes it takes up to three wipes to remove my makeup. I guess I don't mind since these Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths remove most of my makeup. Like I mentioned earlier, I rather use them for light makeup and I would use them in general when I want to use something fragrance free and light weight to cleanse my face. I think since it could take a few wipes to use when removing makeup that the pack could offer 30 count instead of 25 count just to give the consumer a few more wipes. I would purchase these cloths and I recommend them. I think these are worth trying, especially if you like Cetaphil products.

Have you tried these Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths? If so what are your thoughts?

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

I know I'm super late with this review for the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette. I only use this palette for special occasions, holidays or just randomly. I love this palette so much I don't use it frequently since it was a limited edition and I really love the colors lol. Who's excited about the Urban Decay Vice 3?!?! I really like the colors in the Vice 3 palette, but I'm unsure if I want to add it to my collection since I already have similar shades and finishes in other palettes.

Appearance

- This palette comes in a gorgeous marble water color hard case with a crystallized UD logo.

- Large mirror (which I love)

- Dual sided brush

- 20 New metallic and matte shades

My Thoughts

I know I run this word in the ground when I describe palettes I really like, but the Vice 2 Palette is GORGEOUS! The shades are very pigment and there is minimal fallout.

Some of the colors are more shimmery than I'm used too, so I have to use a light hand when applying.

Swatches

Left to right:
Shell Shocked, X-Rated, Stash, and Toxic

Like I mentioned earlier I like using this palette to create holiday eye makeup looks (i.e. Valentine's Day 2014 makeup look) because of the colors and the finishes. I can't wait to use this palette for the next holidays in the upcoming months.

Do you have this palette? Are you purchasing the Vice 3 Palette?

Crochet Pot Holders and Dish Towel/ Red Heart Heads Up Yarn Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer: The only yarn mentioned in this post that was sent to me is the Red Heart Heads Up Yarn. Everything else was purchased and made by me.

I've been working on a few crocheting projects lately. I figured now would be a good time to incorporate the yarn I was sent from Red Heart Yarn (See First Impressions Post)

Red Heart Heads Up Yarn (Grape) 3.5 oz

I really liked using this yarn. It's a little thicker than the Super Saver Yarn, but it's so soft. This yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% wool blend. I found crocheting with this yarn simple and it doesn't tangle like some other yarns from Red Heart. The quantity is only 3.5 which isn't a whole lot, but it works great for small projects such as the kitchen items I worked on. As the name states "Heads Up" this yarn is great for making crochet and knit hats. I would suggest buying another skein of yarn since the contents only has a small amount. A hat pattern is also included inside the wrapper. Even though the recommended hook size is "K" I used a smaller "H" hook and I didn't experience any issues. I would purchase this yarn in the future because I enjoyed using it and the quality is very good!

Check out www.redheart.com for more information on this yarn and other yarns!

End of Summer Mini Haul 2014

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer: This not a sponsored post. Everything mentioned in this post was purchased with my own money.

Everyone seems so ready for Fall! I know I am lol. I've read so many post about Fall or pictures in Instagram related to Fall. I guess I still have Summer on my mind because it is still warm and humid here (even the last few days it wasn't too bad). So, with all that being said here is a small end of Summer haul. These are just a few items I needed to pick up.

1. Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I usually get the travel packs since I don't use these all the time to remove my makeup, and I can keep a pack in my makeup bag in my purse.

2. Nivea Lip Balm

I'm glad that this was a double pack since I tend to use this lip balm a lot. This is one of my favorites!

3. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Hair  Care Products

I went ahead and purchased these items after I tested the conditioner pack that Palmer's sent me. Check out my last post for the full review on the conditioner. I really like how these products keep my hair moisturized and have a lovely coconut scent.

4. Soft Soap Body Wash

These smell wonderful! Even though these smell more tropical, (a reminder of Summer) I'm going to use these during all seasons.

5. Annie Jumbo Rake Comb

Oh how I love the color pink lol and it's a pretty good comb.

6. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

I actually meant to get the Daily Skin Cleanser, but I accidentally picked this one up instead. It seems to work well, so I'm happy :)

7. Gold Emblem Soft Baked Brownie Cookies with White Chocolate Chunks (From CVS)

When I was CVS this week I came across these cookies. OMOGOSH they're sooooooo delicious! I thought I would include these cookies in this post too lol.

Well that's the end of my mini haul. What things have you purchased lately?

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

*This is a sponsored post by Palmer's.  All opinions are my own.

Today I have a review on a conditioner that was sent to me by Palmer's. (See First Impressions Post)

About the product

This is a deep conditioner that contains coconut milk, keratin, and silk protein. There are no sulfates or parabens in this conditioner.

I took a picture of the back if anyone wanted to read the ingredients

About the Product and Claims

- This conditioner claims to restore hair that has been damaged by styling, coloring, processing, or sun.

- Small modular structure of coconut oil allows for deeper penetration

- Strengthes follicle to protect new hair growth

- Replaces natural proteins that have been stripped from damaged hair

- Concentrated conditioning for intensive repair and moisturization.

My Thoughts

- Smells great, the coconut was a little overpowering at first, but it calmed down.

- The conditioner in packet was more than enough to use on my thick hair.

- I could easily comb my hair throughout usage. No tangles.

- I give this product a B since I didn't have the Shampoo that goes with it (I needed to condition my hair so that's why I used this without shampoo in general)

I actually purchased the full sized conditioner at Walmart. I also purchased the shampoo and the hair milk as well. You can view those products in my next post later in the week. I really like how this conditioner left my hair feeling really soft and moisturized days after usage. Moisturizer is very important to me because my hair tends to be dry and frizzy sometimes.

Have you tried any hair products from Palmer's?  What are your favorite hair care products?

Thanks for reading!
