A Quick Little Update!

Hello Everyone! 

So I've been kind of busy this week, that's why I haven't been posting that much. I'll probably be absent for a while because I've been so busy lately, and I have a few crochet projects going on. Don't worry I'm not abandoning blogging or reading your blogs lol. I will be back soon! I just wanted to let my friends and audience know what was going on. I didn't want to appear M.I.A. I also plan on working on some new stuff for my blog as well!

Simple Winter Makeup

I haven't done a FOTD in over a month! So today I have a quick makeup look. Honestly I'm glad it wasn't as cold as yesterday. In speaking of yesterday, my mom's birthday was yesterday and it was freezing outside! I always thought it was kind of cool how my mom's birthday is always exactly two weeks to date after mine lol.

For this look I kept things pretty simple and neutral.

This is unrelated to makeup, but here are a few things I purchased during the Victoria's Secret SAS and mug cozy I made earlier this week.

 

Victoria's SAS. I wanted to get a few clothes, but they didn't have much to chose from. Everything was basically gone.

The Simple Things In Life: Winter Edition

A few months ago I wrote a list of my simple things in life. You can read that post HERE. Today I going to write a follow up Winter edition. 

- Drink hot chocolate

 

Don't you love the value pack?! This should last me for a while lol.

- Drink hot lemon tea

 

Another value pack! Tea is an essential for me year round because my allergies/sinus issues cause me to have chronic throat aches sometimes. 

- Burn scented candles

 

This candle smells wonderful!

- Buy yarn to make Winter accessories and       
  blankets.

An infinity scarf I made my mom for Christmas

- Eat soup or make homemade soup


- Watch snow fall (when it snows in 
  the south)


- Take a nap


- Snuggle under a warm blanket 

 

This pic may look familiar because I showed it in my birthday post. Remember when I mentioned I was sick with a cold on my birthday/Christmas? Perfect time to stay warm under my crochet blanket lol.

- Take a long hot bubble bath

My MAC Lipstick Collection

Today I bring you my long awaited, past overdue MAC Lipstick collection. By far MAC is my favorite brand of lipstick to wear. They offer so many shades, finishes, and collections that you choose. MAC lipsticks have a vanilla smell that in my opinion isn't overpowering and smells really nice.


Disclaimer: These are my own personal definitions of how I feel about each lipstick. All the lipsticks were purchased with my own money.


*Matte

I don't find any of my matte lipsticks drying at all which surprised me! Application is fairly simple, this finish glides across  my lips without any issues. Since it's a matte finish, these lipsticks wear for most of the day. I really like this finish.

*Retro Matte

Unlike the matte lipsticks, I find Retro Matte VERY drying! I have to prepare my lips with MAC's Prep+Prime before application and everything is fine. I definitely recommend using MAC's Prep+Prime or some sort of lip balm before apply these Retro Matte lipsticks. These lipsticks also last most of the day.

*Satin

This finish applies on my lips smoothly and has a nice sheen to them even though I've noticed that a few seem a little drying. These lipsticks wear about 5 hours.

*Cremesheen

This is another finish I really like! These lipsticks have a creamy texture and usually last about 5 hours before I have to reapply. These lipsticks also have a gloss like shine.

*Amplified Creme/Amplified

Honestly, I don't see the difference between these two types of lipsticks. Both lipsticks are very creamy and pigmented. These usually wear about 4 to 5 hours.

*Frost

These two are my first Frost lipsticks from MAC. These  lipsticks are from the Viva Glam Rihanna Collection are shimmery and shiny without being too over the top, very wearable. I've worn these lipsticks about 3 hours before I have to reapply.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015 EVERYONE!!!

 

I hope that everyone's new year is off to a wonderful start! What did you do for New Years Eve? I spent my night in bed watching the ball drop at midnight. I live on the east coast , so I brought in the new year the same time as New York lol. It still seems so surreal how 2014 went by so fast! Well a new year means a new start, new opportunities, and possibilities! If you read my New Year's post from last year you may remember I listed positive lifestyle changes rather than New Years resolutions. As I stated before I don't like the word resolution because it can put so much pressure on a person. Most of my positive lifestyle changes are basically the same except I want to add going back to the gym this year. You can check out my list from last year HERE . Overall I want to maintain good health, happiness, and strength for the new year!

Side Note: I received so much positive feedback on my last post especially about discussing depression awareness in addition to my inspirational posts. I will definitely write more about those topics this year! If any of you had a bad 2014, look at it this way...it's now in the past and look forward to all the wonderful things for the future! Happy 2015!! 

Btw I didn't forget about the postivity jar! I plan on keeping another positivity jar this year!
