Testing Palmer's Hair Products on My Frizzy Hair

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples from Palmer's for review purposes. I want to thank Palmer's for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own.

Today's post is dedicated to everyone with frizzy hair. The struggle of frizzy hair is VERY real! Everyone with frizzy hair likely knows the way to reduce frizz is moisture. I was pretty excited to test other Palmer's formulas products on my hair. For this post I wanted to do things a little different. I'm going to rate each product on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Conditioning Shampoo

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoï, infused with Tiaré flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formla Coconut Oil Conditioning Shampoo is a rich, creamy shampoo, free of sulfates and harsh detergents, that gently cleanses and removes buildup without stripping hair or
interrupting its delicate moisture balance.

My Rating: 5/10

I feel like I was deceived by this shampoo. This coconut shampoo is everything you read in the description except it did interupt the moisture in my hair.  In matter of fact, this shampoo made my hair feel more dry and my hair was a frizzy mess once dried. The only thing that helps add moisture to my hair when using this shampoo is when I used Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil before I wash my hair. I've used this shampoo three times, twice with the coconut oil. I'll probably still use this shampoo here and there, but only after I lightly moisturize my hair with coconut oil before I wash my hair.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Strengthening Leave In Conditioner

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoi, infused with Tiare flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Leave In Conditioner instantly detangles, putting an end to tugging and pulling at knotty, unruly hair. With a few sprays hair has instant slip and silkiness for easier comb-through and styling. Hair-nourishing emoliients fortify hair, control frizz, reduce split ends and give hair healthy-looking shine.

My Rating 7/10

For best results, I use this leave in conditioner when my hair is wet. This is better than the coconut formula shampoo, but I still have to use Spectrum Coconut Oil after I dry my hair in addition to using the conditioner to keep my hair moisturized.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Hair Polisher Serum

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoï, infused with Tiaré flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Coconut Oil Hair Polisher Serum is a shine boosting finishing serum that instantly tames frizz, adds high-definition gloss and makes hair feel like silk.

My Rating: 9/10

This hair serum polish is my favorite out of the coconut products that I used on my hair. My hair looked fresh and shiny. Once applied on my hair dry or wet the serum quickly dissolves and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. I can tell a reduction in frizz when I use this serum. I like to use this serum 3 to 4 times a week.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a powerful natural ingredient used since ancient times to give hair strength and brilliant shine. Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner's incredibly rich formula smoothes out frizzy hair, increases moisture levels and softens tight curls. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is combined with Soybean Oil and Hair Keratin Amino Acids to protect the hair from environmental aggressors and hot styling tools. Hair becomes shinier with extra bounce, softer and less frizzy and easier to style.

My Rating: 8/10

I was surprised that this conditioner worked better on my hair than the coconut oil shampoo. My hair usually doesn't take too well to olive oil based hair products. This left my hair feeling really soft, but slighlty frizzy. I will probably continue to use this conditioner.

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula: Leave-In Conditioner

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Leave-In Conditioner nourishes and repairs dry, frizzy hair. Enriched with an intensive blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Keratin and Silk proteins, this lightweight spray helps control frizz, adds shine, reduces split ends, detangles and acts as a heat protectant from styling damage. Can be used daily on dry or wet hair to detangle and moisturize, leaving hair more manageable.

My Rating: 1/10

I save the worst for last. The only good thing about this leave in conditioner is that it detangles my hair. Other than that, this is nay for me. This olive oil formula leave in conditioner left my hair feeling extremely dry and brittle. There was no shine to my hair. I actually had to re wash my hair later in the day and I never wash my hair twice in one day!

Overall the products were okay.  Both formulas coconut oil, and olive oil smell good. As you read in my reviews, that some products worked better with adding coconut oil. I don't necessarily mind adding coconut oil to help with taming my hair, but I wish some of the products provided more mositure for my hair and reduced frizz.

that's such a shame that some of these product werent good! The descriptions of them sound so promising too! My hair is so dry and damaged so I try to find things like this to help! That's too bad the shampoo wasn't good and that some of these made your hair feel more dry. That serum though sounds nice Pilar!

Sucks when you try things out and it isn't what you want, but on the plus at least there are ones there you enjoyed :)

I am so sorry the shampoo did not work as expected. But it looks like the other products worked pretty well. Great, honest review.

That's too bad about the shampoo, but at least some of the other hair products worked for your hair!

Oh Pilar, I can really appreciate this post cause I have frizzy hair too. Most of the shampoos/conditioners I've tried end up leaving my hair dry, like you said. The only one that moistens my hair and takes away some of the frizz is Pantene pro-v Repair and Protect. Have you tried that? I hope you will give it a try. : )

Bummer about the shampoo and the leave in conditioner but the hair serum polish sounds really good. My hair tends to get frizzy during the summer and I'm always looking for ways to tame it.

Pretty cool they sent you those items to try. That is awesome. So much better than going out and spending a pretty penny on stuff and it not working good. Thanks for the scoring, although I probably will not be trying any of it. I pretty much have become a creature of habit sticking with what I have and what I know I like.

I know! I had such high hopes for the shampoo! Adding coconut oil to some of the products helped moisturize my hair! The serum is really good and leaves my hair feeling moisturized during the day!

I'm staying away from the products that made my hair extremely dry. I was happy that I could work with some of the products.

It was disappointing that some of the products didn't work well on my hair, but some worked well!

Thanks! The shampoo was so misleading! I was thinking wow this lathers well and feels so moisturizing on my scalp, but I was so wrong! If the shampoo provided more moisture, it would be a great product for my hair!

Thanks!

I know what you mean! It's really a trial and error type of situation with my hair. Some products I've used work well on my hair and others not so much. I've heard of the Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect. I need to give that a try!

I think these are good products to try if your hair isn't extremely dry or extremely frizzy unless you add coconut oil. I found adding coconut oil to some of these products worked worked better for my hair.

Palmer's can be a hit or miss for me as well and I agree with you with the shampoo...I used it before and it left my hair a tangled mess.

You're welcome! I love the coconut body wash too! I like the results of the replenishing conditioner on my hair. Have a great week!

I agree! The hair products are more of a hit or miss with me. I really had high hopes for the shampoo since it lathered well when I washed my hair but my hair felt so dry!
