Staying Healthy During the Colder Months

Hello Everyone!

*This post contains PR Samples

Sometimes it's the inevitable that we're going to feel or get sick, but today I wanted to share a few of my tips of staying healthy during the colder months.

- Sanitize, Sanitize, Sanitize!

- Lysol Disinfectant Spray - Crisp Linen

- Lysol Disinfectant Spray To Go

- Lysol Multi-Purpose Cleaners

- Lysol Disinfecting Wipes

* Purell Fresh Hand Sanitizing Wipes - 15ct

* Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Refreshing Gel Hand Sanitizer in Jelly  Wrap Carriers

* Purell Healthy Soap Soothing Cucumber

* Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Refreshing Gel

* Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer NATURALS

I feel like this has turned into sanitizing post lol, but seriously keeping you and your surroundings sanitized can help prevent colds, the flu, etc.  I use the Lysol products primarily around my home, and the Purell Products are good to keep in your bag, the car etc.  I also use the some of the Purell Products around my home as well.

- Stay home and get rest

This is so important. I understand bills have to be paid and you have daily responsibilities, but going about your daily tasks is probably going to do you more harm than good. I'v learned that the hard way when I was younger. Besides if your sick with a cold etc. you're likely going to get others sick if your out and about, and possibly feel worse.

- Stay away from others who are sick

Please take caution when you're around someone who has a cold or the flu etc.

-  Eat healthy foods and drink fluids

It's true you are what you eat. The healthier you eat the better you'll feel and likely recover from not feeling well. Since I have allergy and sinus issues all year round, I'm always keeping myself hydrated with water.

Since the weather has been cooler, I've been getting a few throat aches. I try to drink hot lemon tea with honey and that usually helps.

- Take appropriate medication and see a doctor if neccessary

I displayed Zyrtec since that's what I'm currently taking for allergies

I stress the phrase take appropriate medication because when you self diagnose yourself, you possibly could be taking the wrong over the counter medication.  Also, if you're not feeling better or feeling worse, seek medical treatment.

What tips do you use to stay healthy during the colder months?

  2. I definitely swear exercise and a healthy diet all year round to keep me healthy as I think a strong immune system is the key to not getting sick. If all else fails, I pop vitamin C, echinacea and zinc at the first signs of a cold. I'm oddly allergic to Zyrtec which is an allergy med O_o

  4. Oh Pilar, your post comes at a perfect time cause I'm sick in bed the last few days....awful sore throat, cold, and cough. I haven't been sick in a loooong time, but I've been running around a lot doing things. I just had my first soup today, and was it ever good. I think this suggestion of yours is the best ~Stay home and get rest. There doesn't seem to be anything else to do. : (

    1. Thanks! I hope you feel better soon Sheri! A few years ago I had a really bad cold, and all I could do is stay in bed and drink fluids. I think my body needed the rest. A few days of bed rest I started feeling better.

  7. Great tips, Pilar! So many folks fail to stay home and just spread the problem to others! You are so right keeping things sanitized is important. Soap and water will do the trick. Keep your hands away from your face as we transfer germs to our bodies that way. Good post. ♥

    1. So true! A good hand cream may help with the cracking of your hands. I like to use Purell since it doesn't dry my hands. The Purell soap is good too, it's moisturizing.
