Summer in South Carolina

Hello Everyone!

Good Morning Sunrise!

Anyone who lives in South Carolina, will probably agree with me that the Summers here are extremely hot and humid. In my opinion August has to be the worst month for the heat, and almost every August I tend to get sick from allergies and sinuses. This year is no different lol.

There's a joke I've heard quite a few times, if you live in South Carolina, you know that our Summer starts sometime in April. I'm still asking myself where was Spring this year? It feels like Winter went straight into Summer.  On those occasions it rains and there's low humid, the rain can be quite nice and calming.

Outside of the unbearable heat, I do enjoy these Summer Days. I live in a state that weather is absolutely beautiful on sunny days, and just like the sunrise, the sunsets are just as breathtaking. Very calming and beautiful sunsets. Sometimes I can look outside my patio, and see the orange and purple colors across the sky as the sun sets for the day. On this particular day, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the sunset. As you can see in the last picture, it's still very bright outside and it was almost 8:30 pm. I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer!

    1. I really can't remember Spring like temperatures during Spring this year! The past 2 days werent as bad here either. It was cooler in the morning, and mild in afternoon. The weather was tolerable, but I saw on the news the humidity will be back soon!

  6. It's been hot in the Northeast so I can't even imagine how hot it gotten the South this summer. That said I hope summer sticks around a little longer because I don't miss winter at all.

    1. I guess I wouldn't mind the heat so much, if there wasn't humidity. The humidity here can be very uncomfortable! I'm not much of a Winter person. It gets really cold here at times, but it's not uncommon the temp can get into the 80's during the Winter! One day you wear boots and the next few days you can be wearing sandals! The weather has a mind of it's own!

  7. I love it when it rains especially after long days of hot, humid weather. We have opposite weather over here in Minnesota. Our Winter extends through April and we barely experience Spring and then Fall starts early too.

    1. I only like rain in the Summer if the humidity is low. I heard that Minnesota can get pretty cold!

  8. Pilar, thanks for sharing your weather during the Summer months with us. Nel lives in Georgia right now, and it sounds like the weather is similar. She said it's hot and humid during the Summer and they get rain showers almost every day. Here in California, it's hot in the Summer months, but we don't get the humidity. And living in the north, we get all the seasons, so I appreciate every one of them. Do take a picture of the sunset in your area. I'd love to see it.

  12. Summers in Germany are usually warm and pleasant, we don't have that intense humidity, but it was much warmer and more humid this year than usual. Still, beautiful summer weather, so I am not complaining either.

  13. I feel with you about August, I had some health problems too because this August has been incredibly hot in Mostar. Still, there is something especially beautiful about summer days. I love how in summer days lasts longer. I suppose we must just take the good with the bad.

    1. That's how I look at it too, taking the good with the bad. This kind of weather is hard on me with my sinus and allergy issues.
