Inspirational Post: Journal Writing

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a long overdue inspirational post, Journal Writing. Lately I've really been in a bit of slump and sometimes that can lead me to feel uninspired or even unmotivated. Don't get me wrong I take care of whatever needs to be done in my life, but sometimes I just feel really emotionally drained.

I was talking with my good friend Ashley recently and we got on the topic of Journaling. I mentioned how I felt that I used to find Journaling very therapeutic. I first started Journaling when I was 9 or 10 years old. Back then I wrote more poetry and created drawings, but as I got older I used to write down my thoughts. I feel like this...even though in the traditional sense a journal is for writing down your thoughts,  I feel a journal is whatever you want it to be.

You may remember the picture of this journal that I posted on INSTAGRAM back in November. Since we're in a new year, I figured now is a good time to start back writing.

Here is my journal that I'll be using

I got this journal from Victoria's Secret year last and I haven't used yet. I'm thinking about using it as a dream/goals book. As we get older sometimes it's easy to forget our dreams or lose sight of some goals if we become unmotivated etc. I just thought this would be a good idea to write down those things as well.

Do you find journal writing useful? Also, this week is Inspirational Week on my blog! So stay tuned!

  3. Great post Pilar! I can't wait to start my journal for this year. I love the idea of a dreams and goals journal too because your right that sometimes we can lose sight of the things we want. Even if our dreams and goals change, it would be nice to go back and read that journal so we can remember wha lt our dreams were at a certain point in our life!

    1. Thanks! I hope you enjoy journal writing! I haven't started mine yet, but I'm trying to start writing this week! Good point, I usually go back and read what I write. I think writing down dreams and goals and rereading them would be helpful!

  6. I must be the odd one out because I can never get into writing a diary or journal. I've tried in the past when I was in high school because all my friends were into it but it was just not for me. :-/

    1. Lol! You're not the odd one out! Not everyone is into journal writing, I know that for a few years I strayed away from it! Everyone has different preferences and that's okay too!

  8. I've done the journaling that is talked about in The Artist's Way before. It was called Morning Pages. It's basically just writing 3 pages of your thoughts or whatever's in your head first thing in the morning. The results were pretty interesting! I should start doing that again.

    1. That's sound interesting! I've written in a journal in the morning before, but not in the way you described! I think I'll give that a try sometime!
