Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash and Moisturizer Formulated for Eczema Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

*This is a sponsored post by Cetaphil. The only item I purchased in the post is the full sized bottle of the Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash (located near the end of my post). All opinions are my own.

Today I have a review on two Cetaphil products that helps Eczema prone skin. (See First Impressions Post)

What is Eczema?

Eczema is defined a group of skin conditions that cause skin to become red, irritated, and itchy. However, some people have Eczema that is more severe which can cause patches of skin to become moist, cracked, and infected etc. Did you know that October is Eczema Awareness Month??

I've dealt with slight Eczema since off and on since I was about seven years old on my elbows (due to allergies). I feel fortunate that my Eczema isn't too bad. The only issues I have with Eczema is dry skin and irritation on my elbows from time to time. I try to use fragrance free products on my elbows to prevent these issues.

Now on to the reviews.

Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash

About the Product and Claims

- Clinically proven to provide non-irritating and moisture-enhancing cleansing, while soothing the dry, itchy, skin symptoms associated with eczema-prone skin

- Patented cleansing technology offers rich suds that preserve skin hydration, leaving skin soft and smooth

- Advanced Filaggrin technology helps moisturize as it cleanses

- Safe even for babies as young as three months

- Paraben Free and Steroid Free

- Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association (NEA)

My Thoughts

I really like the results when I use this product on my skin. This sample size was enough to use on my elbows and the formula is so creamy. After my shower my elbows were so soft. This body wash is also fragrance and soap free so my elbows weren't irritated. I don't have any children yet, but I think it's great that Cetaphil provides this product for babies as young 3 months old since Eczema issues can impact anyone, young or old. I purchased a full size bottle of this body wash after I used all the sample size bottle. I plan on using this as a part of my general skin care regimen to continue to keep my elbows moisturized. I highly recommend this body wash if you have any sort of Eczema problems.

Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer

Now I have the next review on the Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer that is recommended along with the body wash.

About the Product and Claims

Soothes, replenishes and protects very dry and eczema-prone skin for long-lasting relief

- Unique combination of patented ceramide and Filaggrin technology that’s clinically proven to help strengthen skin’s protective layer

- Helps restore skin moisture

- Safe even for babies as young as three months

-  Fragrance Free

- Non-Greasy,  absorbs quickly

- Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association (NEA)

- Dermatologist recommended

My Thoughts

This is another product that is a hit for me! Over the past few weeks I can tell a difference in my skin. Like I mentioned earlier, I have slight eczema on my elbows and I try to keep them moisturized. This is probably the best product I've used on my elbows this far in my life. Even though I haven't had many issues with Eczema lately, but that doesn't mean I should neglect my skin care for it. I like that this moisturizer is long lasting and not greasy. I really appreciate moisturizers that I don't have to continually reapply on my skin. This moisturizer is very soothing on my skin throughout the day. I typically use this for best results after I've had my shower. I also like the sample bottle Cetaphil sent because I can refill it and keep it in my purse. After using this RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer, I recommend this product as well.

* Here is the full size body wash. This was purchased with my own money.

Revlon Lip Butter Collection

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Today I want to share my Revlon Lip Butter collection. I've shown some of these in previous posts, but I want to show some more swatches of each lip butter. I really like how most of these lip butter are pigmented and for the ones that are more sheer, I can build up the color. I usually get these from my local Walmart for $6.48, but I've seen them at my local CVS for $9.39...I'll go to Walmart or Ulta lol

I really like the packaging of these lip butters

Swatches

From left to right:
- Lollipop
- Candy Apple
- Berry Smoothie
- Raspberry Pie
- Sorbet
- Crème Brulee
- Tuitti Fruitti

Here is one more I recently added to my collection

-Sweet Tart

Do you own any Revlon Lip Butters? If, so what colors do you own?

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette Review and FOTD

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

If you follow me on Instagram you already know that I caved and bought the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette lol. What can I say, when it comes to high end eyeshadow, Urban Decay definitely wins my heart. If you missed out on my Vice 2 review
CLICK HERE to view my post. I really love this time of year because so many palettes and makeup gift sets are going to be out for the holiday season!

Packaging

The palette was inside this cute bag.

Appearance

- Beautiful Case

- This palette has a hard case with a magnetic closing just like the previous the previous Vice palettes except the previous Vice palettes have a push opening instead of the magnetic closing.

- Large mirror

- Dual sided brush

- Mattes and Shimmery shadows and a few neutral shadows. The Vice 3 has 20 brand new colors in matte and shimmer finishes. There are a few neutral colors as well.

A Few Swatches Left to Right

Truth, Dragon, Heroine, Alchemy, Sonic

My Thoughts

I think Urban Decay did an amazing job with the color selection in this palette! Since this is more of a warm toned palette, I can see myself getting a lot of use out it. I noticed there are a lot of blue, plum, and red shades in this palette. You can create so many different looks from simple, dramatic, and even holiday eye makeup looks. I can't wait to create more looks with this palette.

Here's a quick FOTD  I showed this on Instagram a few days ago as well.

*Details on Eye Makeup*
- NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
- Undone as transition color
- Lucky on lid
- Heroine on crease and on top of lid
- Heroine slightly on Outer V
- Benefit They're Real Mascara

Also...rumor has it that the Vice LTD is coming back for the holidays. Is this true?!?!? For those who don't know, they had the Vice LTD palette out about a month ago and I heard it sold fast. I think it was Sephora VIB Rouge Exclusive. Anyway like I mentioned, I think it's going to be available to everyone for purchase. Does anyone know any other details about this? If so, let me know in the comments below!

Here is what it looks like if you haven't viewed the Vice LTD Palette.

Crocheted Scarf Project/Red Heart Boutique Sassy Fabric

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer: The only yarn mentioned in this post that was sent to me for review is the Red Heart Boutique Sassy Fabric. Everything else was purchased and made by me.

It's time for another Red Heart Yarn review and project :) Today's review doesn't include an actual yarn, but this lace strip material. This material is 100% polyester and made it's debut in 2013.

Red Heart Boutique Sassy Fabric (Snow Leopard) 30 yds

I think this fabric is so pretty, but I definitely had a love/hate relationship with it.

Pros
- nice material
- perfect for making scarves
- good length
- most hooks fit through the lace strips openings
- very easy to crochet

Cons
- The material twisted a lot while I crocheted
- The material twisted so much that I had to cut the material a few times to finish my scarf.

Overall I thought this material was ok. I know some of you may wonder how was it even possible to crochet this scarf? I felt the same way, but it was so easy! A beginner or even someone with no crocheting skills could possibly crochet this scarf as well. You can knit this material as well.  The holes at the top make the project really simple. You can look at the tutorial inside the package, or view videos on the website (I think they have a tutorial for this on the site) and youtube. I'm unsure if I would purchase this material because of all the twisting, it was really aggravating. If I do purchase this material, I'll have to try to find a better way to not to get the material twisted.

Check out www.redheart.com for thier newest and most popular yarns and accessories!

Here are some more pictures of the scarf I made

BH Cosmetics Forever Glam Palette Review ft. FOTD

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

As promised I have my second review for BH Cosmetics Forever Glam Palette. First let me say I really can't decide which one I like best out of this palette and the Forever Glam Palette lol. I've come to the conclusion that both palettes are pretty awesome! I really like how everything I need to do most of my face makeup is conveniently in this palette. Here is the link for the first review BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Review ft. FOTD *Side Note: once again I still have my braids. I wrote this post before I had my braids.

I love this large mirror!

I can see why this palette is called Forever Glam because this palette is just that...GLAM. Most of the shadows are sparkly while a few are matte. I can create so many looks with this palette,  it's so easy to use. The eyeshadows have very small fallout and the colors are long lasting. I've said this in the past, but BH Cosmetics really impress me with quality of their eyeshadow palettes (well at least the ones I own so far)

The highlighter in this palette is better than in the Forever Nude Palette in my opinion. I find that this highlighter had more pigmentation.

The blushes are pigmented as well. There is one matte (tan) and one sparkly color (pink) Both colors are very pretty I especially like that pink blush.

I like the both of the lip glosses. Both lip glosses are pigmented and wear for a few hours.

BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Palette (and a few reviews) ft. FOTD

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

I finally got around to using my Forever Nude Palette and I love it! This palette has quickly become one of my favorites. The colors are so pigmented and easy to use. Honestly the pics I can't hold a candle to how well the colors look in person. *Side note: I still have my braids lol, I wrote this post a while ago.

The eyeshadows are easy to use and I didn't experience any creasing or fading. I didn't use the lip gloss or the blush in this tutorial, but they are pigmented as well when I swatched them. I really like how the lip glosses are shimmery.

Another plus with this palette is that it's great for travel. The only con I have is the highlighter, I see what other people meant when I read the about it. It's not the worst, but it's not the best. I really had to work with the highlighter

Is it me or does could this be an alternative for the UD Naked 3 palette?

I figured I would write a review about the items I purchased from MAC too.

MAC Creme Cup (Creamsheen)

This is such a pretty nude pink and this lipstick is such a wearable shade. Lately I've been into trying out more nude color lipsticks and I found a winner with Creme Cup.

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly

One word AMAZING!! I see what all the hype over this is for lol. It comes in a glass jar with a black screw on top. I really like that it only takes a little bit of the product to apply on my eyelids. This base also applies smoothly on my eyelids and makes putting on eyeshadow smoothly as well. I have to admit this is the best eyeshadow base I've ever owned. You can also use MAC's Paint Pot as a cream eyeshadow. I know some people may think $20.00 is a bit pricey for this product, but it's worth the money.

Now on to the FOTD

Fall Haul 2014

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer: All items discussed and displayed in this post I purchased with my own money.

We are now in my second favorite season FALL!! (If you were wondering Spring is my favorite season) Anyway I love this time of year! Today I want to share a collective haul I started a little over a month ago.

* MAC Products

- A Novel Romance
- Yield to Love

I picked up these two lipstick when MAC first launched their A Novel Romance Collection. These lipsticks are simply gorgeous. I really like both shades of lipstick, but I was taken aback that A Novel Romance was so bright! That's ok though, a nice medium to darker shade of a pink NYX lip liner fixes that issue lol!

* MAC Products

- Media
- Faux
- Rebel
- Flat Out Fabulous
- Dubonnet
- Candy Yum Yum
- Russian Red
- Mac Prep and Prime Lip Care

I know I went a little MAC happy, but I wanted to get a few darker lipsticks for the season. I typically don't wear a lot of dark lipsticks, but I wanted to change it up a bit for Fall and Winter.  I also purchased a few nudes a bright colors. I mainly got the Prep and Prime for the Retro Matte lipstick Flat Out Fabulous because it's so dry.

* NYX Butter Lipstick, Butter Gloss, Lip Liner, and Eyeshadow Base

Butter Lipstick
Sweet Tart

NYX Lip Liner
- Purple Rain
- Orange
- Nude Truffle
- Mauve
- Burgundy
- Currant

- Hot Red
- Rose

NYX Butter Gloss
- Strawberry Parfait
- Merangue
- Sugar Cookie

Eyeshadow Base
- Skin Tone
- White

Since I have new lipsticks, I figured I would get a few lip liners. I know some of these items look familiar since I showed them in a previous post. Ulta currently has a sale on NYX products, and I purchased a few more butter glosses and I wanted to try out their eyeshadow bases.

* Maybelline The Nudes Palette

This was a gift from my mom (remember my blog's first anniversary?) She got me this when she went to Walmart and she figured I would love this since I love neutral colors. She knows me so well :) I can't wait to use this palette!

* Fashion Fair Oil Control Pressed Powder Powder (Fawn) and Fashion Fair Fast Finish Foundation Stick (Butterscotch/Caramel)

I typically only use Fashion Fair face powder and foundation, so when I was running low on each I restocked on my go to brand.

* Coastal Scents Revealed and Revealed 2 Palettes

Revealed Palette

Revealed 2 Palette

For the longest time I've wanted to try these two palettes, and compare them with my all my Naked palettes. I caught these palettes on an amazing sales with extra discounts! They're such beautiful palettes. I think it's good to have dupes of some of products.

* Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette

I caved and got this from Ulta. I know some people may think you don't really need both since they are similar, but my love for the first Naked Basics Palette inspired me to get this one as well. Besides, the colors are very pigmented. I will get a lot of use of this palette!

* Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara (Clear)

I also wanted to try this product as well. I like wearing mascara, but sometimes I just want something simple to wear on my lashes. Since my lashes are already long, my hope is that this mascara can enhance them. I read on the package that I can use this mascara on my brows as well.

Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories

* Stretch Bracelet

I found this cute little stretch bracelet at Walmart. I didn't realize it at the time, but the yellow contents on the bracelet match my yellow ring, so I thought that was great!

* Hello Kitty Pink Glitter Embossed Bag

I absolutely love this bag! This is my third embossed bag, and I had to have it when I saw it! These bags are so spacious and beautiful. I really like how they're adult friendly! Now I just need the Ivory bag and my collection will be complete!

* Myra Short Boot (Payless Shoe Source)

I love wearing warm comfy boots in the Fall, so when I saw these it just made sense to get them. I have a pair of tan boots like these and they keep my feet so warm in the colder months. I have a question, what are your opinion about Uggs??? I started to get a pair, but I saw these first. I thinking about maybe getting a pair in the future, so let me know your thoughts about your Uggs!!

* Old Navy Fold Over Yoga Pants and Old Navy Womens Buttton Front V- Neck Cardigans

I practically live in sweaters, yoga pants, and leggings during the Fall, so these are perfect to go in my wardrobe. I went a size up so my sweaters would be oversized, perfect for Fall!

What items are looking forward to purchasing for Fall?

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone Dark Spot Correcting Cleanser and Skin Therapy Oil Face

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer: The products in this post were sent to me from Palmer's for review purposes (See First Impressions Post) All opinions are my own.

Today I will be writing two reviews on some products I was sent from Palmer's. I used each product for over a month to test them out more accurately.

Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone Dark Spot Correcting Cleanser

About the Products and Claims

-  Vitamin C & Licorice Extract naturally brightens complexion

- Cocoa Butter & Milk Protein balance tone and texture

- Contains skin energizing citrus

- Gentle non-irritating

- Niacinamide & Soy target dark spots

- No Sulfates
- No Parabens
- No Phthalates
- No Synthetic Fragrances or Dyes

My Thoughts

This product is simply amazing! To really test this out, I used this cleanser when I had a breakout which sometimes causes dark spots on my cheek. Using this in my skin care regimen really made a difference and I saw results within a week. The cleanser is very light weight as it foamed on my face. Despite this cleanser being apart of the Cocoa Butter Formula line, it really doesn't have a cocoa butter smell. I would say it has more of a light citrus smell that smells wonderful.

Now on to the second review :)

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil Face

About the Product and Claims

- 10 pure oils helps moisturize and smooth fine lines and wrinkles

- Retnoil and Vitamin C help improve and brighten skin tone

- Light weight

- absorbs quickly

- Cetesomate-E Complex help deliver all of the essential vitamins and nutrients directly into the epidermal layer of the skin

- Hypoallergenic
- Non-Comedogenic
- Paraben Free
- Phthalate Free
- Dermatologist Tested

I first heard about this product last year when a sample was included in a magazine I was reading (I think it was Cosmopolitan or Glamour) When Palmer's sent this face oil for me to review, I was pretty stoked since I liked the small sample I had from that magazine.

This oil is just as amazing as the cleanser I just reviewed! This oil is very hydrating and I only have to use a little bit of the product to have full coverage. I've noticed that this oil also helped lighten my dark spot on my cheek after a week. As stated in the claims this oil has multiple uses, even though I mainly use it for correcting any dark spots I may have. I like how this product has beneficial ingredients such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil and macadamia nut oil etc. This face oil also has a nice citrus smell.

I definitely recommend both of these products because they both have so many benefits and they correct any dark spots and blemishes I have. I can really see a difference when I use these products on my face.

Halloween Coasters / Red Heart Reflective Yarn Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures (or some of the pictures) that were deleted.

Disclaimer : The only yarn mentioned in this post that was sent to me is the Red Heart Reflective Yarn. Everything else was purchased and made by me.

Happy October!  Since Fall is here,  what better way to acknowledge the season than to make a few Halloween coasters?!

First I'm going to review this Reflective Yarn (Neon Orange) 3.5 oz  that sent was to me by Red Heart (See First Impressions Post)

This was a pretty cool yarn to make my projects with. The texture is both soft and rough. The yarn in general is relatively soft, but the reflective string that runs throughout the yarn gives it a rough feel. Since I made a few simple items, I had left over. However,  I would suggest purchasing more if your going to make a larger crafting project etc. I think it's kind of neat how when you turn the flash on your camera the yarn lights up. Thus the name "reflective yarn". The only con I had is the reflective yarn would get caught outside my crocheting hook sometimes as I crocheted. That might have happen since I didn't use the recommended K hook. I used an H hook instead. I give this yarn a B, and depending on the project, I would purchase this yarn in the future.

Check out www.redheart.com for more yarns and information!
