My Life In October 2017

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a full post for Halloween, but since I've been a little under the weather with allergy and sinus issues I didn't get to do much. Nonetheless it's the end of the month and it's time for a monthly lifestyle post. I still can't believe that this month marks a year since I've been doing these types of posts!

Testing Palmer's Hair Products on My Frizzy Hair

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples from Palmer's for review purposes. I want to thank Palmer's for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own.

Today's post is dedicated to everyone with frizzy hair. The struggle of frizzy hair is VERY real! Everyone with frizzy hair likely knows the way to reduce frizz is moisture. I was pretty excited to test other Palmer's formulas products on my hair. For this post I wanted to do things a little different. I'm going to rate each product on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Conditioning Shampoo

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoï, infused with Tiaré flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formla Coconut Oil Conditioning Shampoo is a rich, creamy shampoo, free of sulfates and harsh detergents, that gently cleanses and removes buildup without stripping hair or
interrupting its delicate moisture balance.

My Rating: 5/10

I feel like I was deceived by this shampoo. This coconut shampoo is everything you read in the description except it did interupt the moisture in my hair.  In matter of fact, this shampoo made my hair feel more dry and my hair was a frizzy mess once dried. The only thing that helps add moisture to my hair when using this shampoo is when I used Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil before I wash my hair. I've used this shampoo three times, twice with the coconut oil. I'll probably still use this shampoo here and there, but only after I lightly moisturize my hair with coconut oil before I wash my hair.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Strengthening Leave In Conditioner

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoi, infused with Tiare flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Leave In Conditioner instantly detangles, putting an end to tugging and pulling at knotty, unruly hair. With a few sprays hair has instant slip and silkiness for easier comb-through and styling. Hair-nourishing emoliients fortify hair, control frizz, reduce split ends and give hair healthy-looking shine.

My Rating 7/10

For best results, I use this leave in conditioner when my hair is wet. This is better than the coconut formula shampoo, but I still have to use Spectrum Coconut Oil after I dry my hair in addition to using the conditioner to keep my hair moisturized.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula: Hair Polisher Serum

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula products contain ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoï, infused with Tiaré flower petals. These raw, natural ingredients deeply hydrate, repair damage and give hair incredible shine. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Coconut Oil Hair Polisher Serum is a shine boosting finishing serum that instantly tames frizz, adds high-definition gloss and makes hair feel like silk.

My Rating: 9/10

This hair serum polish is my favorite out of the coconut products that I used on my hair. My hair looked fresh and shiny. Once applied on my hair dry or wet the serum quickly dissolves and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. I can tell a reduction in frizz when I use this serum. I like to use this serum 3 to 4 times a week.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a powerful natural ingredient used since ancient times to give hair strength and brilliant shine. Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner's incredibly rich formula smoothes out frizzy hair, increases moisture levels and softens tight curls. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is combined with Soybean Oil and Hair Keratin Amino Acids to protect the hair from environmental aggressors and hot styling tools. Hair becomes shinier with extra bounce, softer and less frizzy and easier to style.

My Rating: 8/10

I was surprised that this conditioner worked better on my hair than the coconut oil shampoo. My hair usually doesn't take too well to olive oil based hair products. This left my hair feeling really soft, but slighlty frizzy. I will probably continue to use this conditioner.

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula: Leave-In Conditioner

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Leave-In Conditioner nourishes and repairs dry, frizzy hair. Enriched with an intensive blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Keratin and Silk proteins, this lightweight spray helps control frizz, adds shine, reduces split ends, detangles and acts as a heat protectant from styling damage. Can be used daily on dry or wet hair to detangle and moisturize, leaving hair more manageable.

My Rating: 1/10

I save the worst for last. The only good thing about this leave in conditioner is that it detangles my hair. Other than that, this is nay for me. This olive oil formula leave in conditioner left my hair feeling extremely dry and brittle. There was no shine to my hair. I actually had to re wash my hair later in the day and I never wash my hair twice in one day!

Overall the products were okay.  Both formulas coconut oil, and olive oil smell good. As you read in my reviews, that some products worked better with adding coconut oil. I don't necessarily mind adding coconut oil to help with taming my hair, but I wish some of the products provided more mositure for my hair and reduced frizz.

Come Along with Me!

Hello Everyone!

I don't know it's because my birthday is on Christmas Day, or I'm just in the Christmas decorating spirit, but it's been hard to focus on Fall with all the Christmas decor in stores lol. The past two days I've been out and about, so I decided to do a post to take you all along with me :)

Tuesday October 17th

Bright and early Tuesday morning. It actually felt like Fall weather!

I haven't done a lot of Fall decorating this year, so I loved looking at the Fall items in Hobby Lobby.

I usually love Hobby Lobby, but the one I went visited didn't have the color bulbs I was looking for. Nonetheless, the color selection was nice.

Beautiful Snowflakes

Christmas Trees

I think colorful Christmas Trees are so pretty!

I think this display is so nice.

Another nice display

Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree also has a lot of nice Christimas Decor (and decor in general) I picked up a few things for an upcoming Christmas Project.

Publix

I was good and walked away from the Bakery even though I really wanted a cookie lol

Wednesday October 18th

Walmart

Wally World lol

I'm noticing that Walmart is has the better Christmas Decor this year

Since it rarely snows in South Carolina. I think these ornaments would be great addition to a Christmas Tree to give a Winter Wonderland touch.

Love these bulbs

More bulbs

The bowls are more a collective haul over the past few weeks. Please remember that you should replace plastic bowls every now and again. Since the holidays are coming up I needed to get a new rolling pin and a second glass pie plate.

CVS Pharmacy

I've stated plenty of times on my blog that I'm a couponer and this CVS trip was no different lol. I picked up two more 12 pack rolls of Scott toilet paper that were on sale. I had a few extra care bucks that I used.

A few weeks ago I started seeing L A Girl in CVS. Has anyone tried this brand? I know this brand is popular in the beauty community. I would like to know the quality of the lipstick and foundation.

I try to include stores etc. during my monthly lifetsyle posts,  but let me know if you all want to include more come along with posts on my blog!

The Holidays are Coming!

Hello Everyone! It's that time of year again! We're almost at the holiday season. I said almost because Thanksgiving isn't here ...
