Solar Eclipse: August 21, 2017

Hello Everyone!

Random picture from my balcony a few hours after the Solar Eclipse and rain

Today's post was unplanned, but I wanted to write a quick post about the Solar Eclipse that took place today.

As many of you may already I know, I live in South Carolina and we were able to view 100% totality of the solar eclipse. This was such a major event that it was reported South Carolina had over 500,000 vistors to witness this amazing event.

I watched it live on TV, but nonetheless it was a beautiful sight to see. (There were issues with some of the solar eclipse glasses not being safe so I skipped it and watched it on TV.  I wasn't going to risk my vision) As I was sitting in the living room it became totally dark and then the sky began to become light again.

I can't really explain it, but I agree with so many people that were commenting that it felt like a calming spiritual moment during the eclipse. I know that I didn't technically go outside, but even if I had I don't think I would've taken a picture. This was one of the moments I truly wanted to enjoy the beauty nature even if I did view it on TV.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week :)

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray

Hello Everyone!

Since I live in South Carolina, finding a good setting spray is very important. The weather can get pretty hot and humidity here throughout the year, but specifically during the Spring and Summer.

Information courtesy of www.wetnwildbeauty.com

Lights, camera, action! This exclusive formula extends makeup wear by preventing cracking, smudging, fading, or creasing. Works with any makeup and all skin types, plus it has aloe to hydrate your skin. One step, perfect! - See more HERE

My Thoughts

This is a great setting spray! I wear this a lot during the humidity days of Spring and Summer and this setting spray keeps my makeup looking in tack throughout most of the day. I noticed when I spray my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge with this setting spray it helps my makeup last even longer.  I love how this setting spray contains aloe since aloe is good for hydrating  the skin and good for your skin in general.

This spray gives me a flawless complexion when I take pictures. This spray has a light scent. I really don't know how to describe it except as faint medicinal scent that fades once applied on my face. If you use this spray everyday, you'll probably go through the bottle quickly since the bottle is only 1.52 Fl. Oz. Other than the small amount of product you get inside the bottle this is a great setting spray to keep your makeup looking flawless throughout the day.

Have you tried Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray?

Depression Awareness: The Benefits of Having a Pet

Hello Everyone!

For today's depression awareness post I'm going to focus on the benefits of having a pet to cope with depression. It feels like I haven't written one of these posts in forever!

One of the best memories I have from my teenage years and early 20's would be those of my dog Lucky. My mom got him for me as a Valentine's Day present in 2001 when I was 15 years old. Side Note: I had pictures of Lucky, but they were damaged in that flood in 2015

Why I had a Dog

As long as I could remember, I've loved animals particularly dogs. One of these reasons my mom got Lucky for me was to fill the void of my favorite aunt passing away a few months earlier in November 2000. I remember getting my dog Lucky  just like it was yesterday. He was this cute little 5lb (practically a newborn puppy) black and white Cava-Tzu (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Shih-Tzu) puppy with the happiest spirit. It was love at first sight. He so precious and adorable.

How Having A Pet Helps with Depression

I know that I can only speak for myself, but I really think that having a pet helps with depression. For example, having a pet give you to a routine. You wouldn't want to neglect your pet by letting him or her go hungry or thisty etc would you?

Every now and again depression can make a person feel to tired or not want to get out of bed and engage in daily activities. When I had Lucky, I used to take him for walk or I would have him accompany me while I went for a jog. I don't think he minded too much since he like going for walks and runs anyway lol. Being active is an important factor when dealing with depression. Studies have shown that the body release endorphins while exercising which can improve your overall mood.

Pets Need to be Shown Love Too

Animals are a lot like people, they have feelings and need to be shown love too. I think one day I'll probably get another dog. The next dog I get I would like to look into getting a rescue dog. Sadly Lucky died in July 2007, but I'll never forget the joy he added to my life.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks

Hello Everyone!

I've been wanting to do this review for the longest time! About two months ago I finally started seeing the Milani Amore Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks in CVS.  I also noticed that one of the local Wal-Mart's in my city started carrying Milani Cosmetics! I'm super happy about that lol.

With flash (true colors of the lipsticks)

Without Flash (I added the number alongside the names of each lipstick)

Adorable

Precious

Loved

Devotion

Obsession

Cinemattic Kiss

My Thoughts

I didn't want this to be a compare and contrast type of post, but I like these matte liquid lipsticks much better than Colourpop.  I feel with the Milani Amore Lip Creme Collection you can apply your lipstick effortlessly. There isn't splotchy application which is a major plus! As you can see these lipsticks are so pigmented. I've worn these lipsticks for the majority of the day and there wasn't any fading.  I find these lipsticks comfortable to wear with or without a lip balm.  I'm so happy that I found matte liquid lipsticks that aren't drying.

As for the matte metallic liquid lipstick (Cinemattic Kiss) it's pretty much the same results as the matte except since they're metallic matte. The lipstick isn't completely kiss proof and I usually have to reapply at least once throughout the day which isn't bad. I almost forgot to mention the scent! Omgosh these lipsticks smell like funfetti birthday cake, or at least that's what I think. The scent is sweet, but not overpowering. Overall I like both formulas of these lipsticks.

Side Note: I had to share this, Covergirl liked one of my photos I posted on Instagram
