Red Lips for Selena

Hello Everyone!

Today (March 31st) is the 21st anniversary of Selena Quintanilla death. You may have seen the hashtag #redlipsforselena around social media. Well today I wanted to show my reds lips using my new Milani Ruby Valentine lipstick.

I was only 9 years old when Selena died, but I've always admired her and her music. If you're wondering yes, I do have the movie Selena on DVD Staring Jennifer Lopez. I also can't wait for MAC to launch their Selena makeup collection. If you were unaware MAC announced this news last Summer.

Pilar in the Pantry: Organic Valley Organic Balance Milk Protein Shake Review

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This is a PR Sample I received in my Fab Fit Fun Welcome Box. All opinions are 100% my own.

Last week I wrote a first impressions review on the welcome box I received from Fab Fit Fun. To read that post, CLICK HERE. I mentioned that I would review a few of the items, so today I wanted to do a health related review on the Organic Balance Milk Protein Shake I received in the box.

About Organic Balance:

Balance is satisfying the delicious without sacrificing the nutritious.

Organic Balance is a delicious, organic milk protein shake perfectly portioned for a quick breakfast, a light snack, or anything in between. Made with a simple list of high-quality ingredients, it's the perfect shake to keep you energized while you're on the go.

Nutritious, wholesome ingredients to power you through your day.

At Organic Valley, we believe in keeping things simple. Use what you need, and leave out what you don't. That's how our family farmers have operated every day since 1988.

This belief is brought to life with Organic Balance, which consists of only 9 high-quality ingredients, 16g of organic milk protein and 50% of your recommended daily intake of calcium.

Like all Organic Valley products, Organic Balance is made without the use of GMOs, antibiotics, synthetic hormones, toxic pesticides or artificial sweeteners.

Why is Protein Good for Me?

Protein is a primary building block in muscle, bones, skin and blood. Consuming enough protein aids in post-workout recovery, satisfies your appetite more completely, and aids in post-workout recovery and supports muscle and tissue repair in general. The protein in Organic Balance is a combination of whey and casein, which occur naturally in milk. Whey is a “fast acting” protein that the body can break down and absorb quickly. Whey protein helps promote muscle growth and strength. Casein is a “slow-acting” protein because it takes longer to digest and is slowly released into the bloodstream. Casein inhibits the breakdown of protein and protects muscles. Both proteins are needed for proper nutrition and should be consumed in combination.

My Thoughts

This milk protein shake is pretty decent. The milk is really creamy, but it doesn't leave me feeling bloated like regular milk since this milk is lactose free. Another plus for all my health conscience people reading :) this milk is also gluten free. When I first tasted this milk protein shake I noticed it tasted a little chalky, but in tolerable way. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate since I think it tastes nasty, but I was pleasantly surprised how good this milk protein shake tasted! Honestly it really didn't taste like typical dark chocolate, it wasn't bland tasting at all. Even though you can store this milk protein shake on the shelf, personally I think I tastes better when it's cold. On the website it states  you should store this product between 33 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

I haven't seen this product in too many stores in my area except in Walmart and Bilo. I looked on the website, and it provides information of where you can purchase these products in your area. I really think this milk protein shake is worth giving a try due to its nutrients and health benefits.

Victoria's Secret Haul: Spring 2016

Hello Everyone!

Happy First Day of Spring!! So, I've done a little retail therapy shopping lately. You ever just feel the need to treat yourself every now and again? These are actually two separate hauls from Victoria's Secret.

This is the first part of my haul from a few weeks ago. I used a regular reward card and a birthday reward card (I know my birthday was in December, my bday reward card got lost in the mail! I swear it took forever to get it!) I was really happy that my reward cards took care of most of these purchases. Major savings :)

A better view of my VS Sleep Shirt. I love these sleep shirts! I also like these sleep shirts can be worn easily as a tunic pair with leggings or any type pants/jeans.

All three bags

Free VS Tote Bag and Flip Flops: VS Swim Special 2016

Ok So I'm going to be honest here. I just wanted the free tote and the flip flops with purchase lol. I didn't even watch the Swim Special this year, but I knew VS probably would have free shipping with $25 purchase. I saved so much money again with discounts and my rewards card!

A better view of the VS Pink Racer Back Tank. These tanks are so roomy and comfy. FYI, these tanks are pretty thin

Stay tuned in the next few week I have a few hauls I'll be sharing :) Also, I've been a little behind on responding on my comments and blog visiting, but I'm playing catch up this week! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Inspirational Post: Don't Settle for Less

Hello Everyone!

Today I bring you another inspirational post focusing on the importance of not settling for less. I feel when you settle for less you lose a part of yourself. I think at some point we question why am I doing this? or what am I doing? Here are a few areas that I refuse to settle for less. Side note: I've really been in an inspiring writing kind of mood lately. I guess sometimes you can write the best forms of inspiration from personal experiences and life lessons.

Have you ever heard the phrase "A piece of a man is better than no man" Well HELL no!! I rather be alone than to be with a man who doesn't respect me or value my worth. NEVER settle for a man (or any significant other) who doesn't treat you right and I mean NEVER! No one deserves to stay in a hurtful relationship where their significant other doesn't show respect, support, and most importantly love etc.

I've had to let plenty of friends go. Sometimes people grow apart and have very different paths their going in life. That's ok not everyone is supposed to be in your life except for a season. This is another area I refuse to settle.

You may not be in the career field you want, but that doesn't mean you can't work towards what you want to do with your life career wise.

Those are just a few of my thoughts about not settling for less. What are your thoughts about this topic?

My Thoughts

What an AWESOME box! I love how I received full sized products that are valued for $200 or more and you only pay $49.00! * This box is valued at $315.95. I know I received my box for review purposes, but I would definitely pay the $49. That's a really great deal for all these products. Shipping is fairly quick I think that received my box about 3 day after I received the notification email. At first glance two of my favorite items in the box are the necklace, the Zoya nail polish. I think it's great that FFF even includes a gift card value at $25 for a online boutique. I can't wait to check that out! I've been wanting to get healthier this year, and what better way to get a jump on things with a jump rope?! I'll probably write a few reviews on some of the items I recieved. If there is a specific item in this box you want reviewed, please let me know in the comments section below! I really like how Fab Fit Fun promotes health by including a health related items in their subscription box.

The only downside is that these boxes tend to sell out, so when a new box comes out I suggest that you go ahead and make your purchase. You may even want to consider order a box pre sale.
