I'm super excited about today's post! Last week I received a package and to my wonderful surprise, it was Urban Decay's New Elements Palette! As you can see the packaging is gorgeous!! I received this palette on the day it was released, September 10th!
Product Description
The unbelievably gorgeous Elements Eyeshadow Palette spans space and time with 19 mystical, never-before-seen shades in a celestial, ultra-sleek compact.
Inspired by the elements—Air, Earth, Fire and Water—a constellation of unique colors orbit around Luna, an ultra-iridescent transformer shade. The 19 new multidimensional pigments include bright mattes, holographic shimmers and molten metallics. We predict you’ll love Fortune Teller, a metallic magenta with green 3-D sparkle and shift. And Hex Remedy is an iridescent purple that really raises our vibrations.
With gilded details and a crystal-like case, this orb-inspired compact is your key to the next dimension. Slip it into your purse or gift it to a fellow mystic…Elements is the perfect palette to summon your inner goddess
Since you deserve serious staying power and shadow that doesn’t flake or fade out on you, every shade in the Elements Eyeshadow Palette is made from our mind-blowing formula that gives each shade its velvety texture, blendability and rich color that lasts.

Urban Decay is beauty with an edge.
*I prepared my lids by using Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser. I used Elemental for my transition shade. For part of my lid (near the tear duct) I used Heavy Water. On the other part of lid near the outer v, I used Sapphire Dream.
For the outer v, I used Hex Ready. Hex Ready mixed with Sapphire Dream in the outer V gives a nice smokey look. I also blended Hex Ready on top of my lid. For the lower lash I smugded Heavy Water.
To finish this eye makeup look. I went back into my tear duct and used Luna.
My Thoughts
I love this palette! Urban Decay is known well for their neutral toned palettes...which I also love, but I have a great appreciation for colorful sparkly palettes as well. This palette dropped at a perfect time of year since the holidays are coming up. I see myself creating fun and festive looks with this palette. This palette also has beautiful shades to create a date night eye makeup look. It's not only a great palette for the holidays and date night. In my opinion this is a great palette to use during the week. This palette may have colorful shimmer shades, but it also has neutral colors that are good to create an everyday makeup look.
I've been an avid fan of Urban Decay's eyeshadows for years for their quality, and the Elements Palette is no different. The shadows in this palette are intense and I rarely use that word to describe eye shadow. This has to be one of the most pigmented palette I own, and the wear time is pretty impressive as well. I created this makeup look around 10 am and by 8pm my eyeshadow still looked fresh. There's no creasing, the colors blend very well, and there's minimal fallout from the shadows.
Since Fall starts tomorrow, I went for a darker eye makeup look. As I mentioned in my makeup details, I mixed Sapphire Dream and Hex Ready to give a smokey purplish blue look. I love that this palette is so versatile. I also mentioned that I think this palette would be good for an everyday look. The palette may have unconventional shimmer shadows, but I definitely can make it work for an appropriate everyday look. Be sure to look for that in an upcoming post soon!

This palette has so many pretty shades, Pilar. And the cover is cool. The names are very earthy, aren't they? You look pretty in these pics, and the headbands you wear always add a little something to your outfits. Purple suits you, and I'm not sure I told you, but Purple is my favorite color. : )
