A New Year 2024

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope that everyone's new year is off to an amazing start. I know that technically you start over when you want, but honestly I was ready for a new year. The past few months have been challenging. I'm looking ahead to a fresh start.

What better way to get the year started than by doing a little monthly planning? This planner was my mom's and she didn't get to use it last year so I changed the dates to match 2024. Last year when we got the planners (I had the pink one) they were on sale for 50% off and we used a 15% off coupon. Erin Condren planners are expensive, but worth the money if you chose to pay full price. If you're a budget saver like me, I'd wait until the planners go on sale.

Last week I had a consultation with the pulmonologist. Since I was hospitalized back in August and September I have to continue to make sure my lungs are functioning properly. I'm still having breathing issues at times, but the pulmonologist is going to have me breathing and walking tests later this month to see what is the best treatment for me. I've been making my health more of a priority and I plan on continuing prioritizing my health. You can read my latest health update HERE

You may have noticed that I'm getting back into makeup. I missed doing my makeup. Last month I wasn't feeling best with being constantly congested, but I made myself do my makeup. I forgot how much I loved creating makeup looks. 

It's a new year and I'm focused on various things. I don't like like making  New Year Resolutions. I've mentioned that before because I feel making resolutions can put pressure on myself. I've learned a long time ago that life doesn't always go the way you planned. As long as I'm doing the best I can and taking things one day at time I have faith that I will accomplish my goals. For my birthday I used part of my Victoria's Secret Gift Card to purchase the 2023 Holiday Release for Bombshell Glamour Eau De Parfum. I absolutely love this scent! It's one of those scents that's grown, sexy, and makes you feel glamorous while wearing it. I've gotten so many compliments on this fragrance. How can one not feel glamorous wearing this scent?! The packaging is gorgeous!

With the new year approaching I eed a new start. Sometimes a nice scented fragrance is all you need to feel confident again or more like yourself. This year has been one of the most challenging years of my life. During some of these challenges I feel like I lost myself along the way.

As much as I love this scent, I think it's suitable for a special occasion, or date night out. It's a little strong I can just touch the bottle and the scent will be on my hand for hours lol. This is a perfect scent for Winter especially when you want to be noticed.

I can smell the peach note in the fragrance and if you're expecting this parfum to be sweet, I hate to be the one to disappoint you. The peach note has a hints of sweetness, but in my opinion it's not a sweet scent. Once the parfum settles and dries on my skin I still smell peach, and amber. 

I don't have any plans for NYE, so like many others I'll be in the living room watching the ball drop and smelling amazing lol! Wishing everyone a wonderful Happy New Year 2024!

Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas to Me!!

Merry Christmas!

Today is also my 38th Birthday! This day would be incomplete if didn't thank God for seeing another birthday. This morning when I woke up more so when I brought in my birthday at midnight I couldn't help but think about my mother. This is my first birthday without her and her birthday is two weeks exactly after mine. I'm not only celebrating my birthday/Christmas today, I'm also celebrating the wonderful holiday seasons and birthdays I had with her. She always made the holidays and birthdays special, so I know she would've wanted me to enjoy today.

I took this picture last night on Christmas Eve. It's something special and magical about Christmas lights, but especially on Christmas Eve. 

I usually have a Christmas Tradition that I take my nightly shower a little early.

I get settled with a cup of hot chocolate to watch A Christmas Story. This is one of my favorite Christmas Movies.

I was so surprised when I received a generous Victoria's Secret gift card. Yankee Candle sent over these two Merry Berry Candles that smell amazing!

My Godmother always comes through at Christmas/My Birthday with the Starbucks Tumblers.  

I spent some of my Christmas/birthday gift card on Bombshell Glamour Eau De Parfum. 

Kiss sent over this amazing PR Gift earlier in the month. There so many wonderful products here that I've been using throughout the holiday season. I can't wait to use everything especially now that I'm getting back into makeup. 

My best friend Albert stopped by to bring me a gift and to catch up. It was good seeing him.

My Aunt sent me this gorgeous bag from Victoria's Secret. I think this is from Mariah Carey's Collection that she did this year with VS.

Overall I had a nice birthday. I feel blessed to see 38 years old. As my birthday comes to an end, I want to thank everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday 🤍

Holiday Health Update

 Hello Everyone!

As many of you know I was really sick in August and September with pneumonia, sepsis, and covid. Since I was so sick my blood sugar skyrocketed to 525 once I was the ER during the first hosptial visit. I've never been a diabetic, but because I was so sick the onset of diabetes became prevalent. Diabetics does run heavily in my family but I never had a problem. My A1C has always been in the range of normal and pre-diabetic. 

The doctors in the hospital and my primary doctor were hoping that my diabetes would reverse since they notice my A1C was coming down significantly within a matter of those few weeks. Thank God I'm on the right path. I'm so happy to report that my A1C is normal again.

I was so nervous before my doctor appointment earlier this week because outside the diabetes concerns I'm still battling colds and sinuses, but my low grade fever was normal by time I went to my appointment. Thankfully my test came back negative for Covid, Flu, and Strep Throat. My lungs sounded clear and my heart sounded good. I can hold off on getting my lungs checked for now. I still have to watch out for fevers and get my lungs checked every few months. I'm still under the weather, but I feel so blessed that my health is improving. This is one of best Christmas/Birthday gifts that I could receive.

Christmas Cocoa

 Hello Everyone!

I love a good cup of hot cocoa, but it's something special about hot cocoa around Christmas especially when it's cold outside. 

It's been freezing outside the past few days so that's a perfect excuse for me to make myself a cup of my favorite hot beverage. Tonight I used Swiss Miss. 

I've been cutting down on sugar. This is my first time Reddi Whip Zero Sugar and it's pretty good. It may even taste better than the original in my opinion. 

No cup of hot cocoa is complete without buring a Hot Cocoa and Cream Candle. I've had this one for a few years and it's a fresh burn for tonight. 

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas/Birthday

We're officially one week away from Christmas/ My Birthday! To say these past few months have been challenging would be an understatement.

A Bombshell Magic Kind of Christmas

I look forward to this time of year for many reasons. I love seeing the limited edition items that are released specifically for the holidays. I'm a fan of Victoria's Secret Bombshell Parfum Collection. 

Last year VS released Bombshell Magic and there's everything magical about the scent. The packaging is gorgeous and it's a great fragrance to wear during the day or evening. 

Description:

Joyful and bright, Bombshell Magic is an extension of Victoria's Secret Bombshell perfume.

"Inspired by the holidays, this Eau de Parfum weaves decadent fruit with swirling petals to reveal an intoxicating signature. As I mentioned this was a limited edition release from 2022 so it's unavailable on the vs website, but you can find it on other outlets such as Amazon etc. I think Bombshell Magic should be added permanently to the Bombshell Collection since it gives a twist on the original lineup.
