Maybelline The 24k Nudes Palette

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm going to share my thoughts on Maybelline's latest palette release, The 24k Nudes Palette. I didn't even know about this palette until last month. I think the original release for this palette was supposed to be in January, but my awesome mom found this last on the and gave it to me for a Christmas present :) In speaking of awesome moms, my mom's birthday was this past Sunday :)

My Thoughts

I'm a little torn on my feelings on this palette. I really love the colors, but these shadows aren't that photo friendly. As you can tell, you probably can see the shadows better in my second picture better than the first picture. Maybelline stated that the formula in the 24k Nudes Palette is supposed to better than the previous Nudes Palettes that have been released. I will admit that the formula feels softer and the shadows feel creamier, but some of the shadows still lack pigmentation. I think that this palette is great for creating a soft makeup look rather than a makeup look that is darker or smokey. I can see myself creating a lot of difference soft eye makeup looks with this palette especially with the shimmery shadows. I haven't created a Smokey Eye yet, but based on my swatches I think I could maybe create a soft Smokey eye?!  I think that I'm going to put that on my list of makeup looks to create.

I used MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly as eyeshadow base and I also used Colourpop Hanky Panky as a transition color since there are no transitions colors in this palette. The shadows wear well throughout the day except I noticed that my makeup started to fade about 5 hours later. My eye makeup was still noticeable, but not as noticeable as I would like. If you're looking for a palette that is going to let you create dark intense Eye makeup looks, you might want to skip this one, but If you want to create soft Eye makeup looks with soft/creamy shadows then you may want to add this to your collection. This is a palette about personal preference. I like this palette and I can see some improvements with the formula, but I still think some of the shadows could use a little more intensity.

Do you own this palette? What are your thoughts? Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Love the selfies! The colors in this palette look gorgeous too bad some of them lacked pigmentation. Great review!

Thanks! I like this palette, but it's like Maybelline made the shadows more creamier and lack some pigmentation! I think it's still a good palette though!

Great review hun. I agree the pigmentation isn't very impressive.

It's good to know that Maybelline did improve the formula. Happy Belated birthday to your mom!

What a coincidence that we both reviewed this palette this week. I agree with you that the colors are great but I also wish that the pigmentation was better. This is definitely one that works better with a primer.

Thank you! I wonder why some of these palettes are pigmented more than others?!

I know! I saw and commented on your review! Maybelline does an amazing job with color selection, but sometimes the palettes lack pigmentation. I agree primer works well with these shadows, especially a white or pearl base!

Great review, Pilar! And beautiful makeup look. That's too bad that some of the shadow still lack pigmentation after they've tried to improve the formula! I'm glad that you do some seem improvements though, but I wish the shades were more consistent with the pigmentation! It definitely it a beautiful palette though!

I have a vanity full of makeup Pilar. I usually just use a little foundation and blush and then a little mascara with lipstick. If we're going out I do use eye shadow. You look so pretty in the photos. And I must say the colors look very nice to me. ♥

Thank you! I know! I really wish Maybelline would work on the pigmentation with some of the shades. I'm just glad that I could see improvements with the formula. I agree this is a beautiful palette!

Thank you! Lately when I wear makeup, I'll wear Foundation and I'll skip the face powder lol. I love the color selection in this palette. I think these colors are great for Winter!

I think it is very hard to find intense eyeshadows at the drugstore, most of them are soft in finish.

Good point! I've noticed that too with drugstore Eyeshadows. The only brand I've noticed that provide intensity in their shadows would be Milani. I love Milani's Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Collection. The shadows are very pigmented and long lasting.
