Mental Health/Wellness Check-In

Hello Everyone!

Today I wanted to a mental health/wellness checking in. For the most part I'm doing well. I'm not sleeping much at night and I've been waking up early in the mornings. About a week ago I starting having an anxiety attack, but I think it was due to not sleeping. I've also been having allergy and sinus issues so I've been feeling a little tired. I actually had a virtual counseling visit with my counselor on Tuesday. That session was therapeutic and we also discussed the possible reasons and solutions for my lack of sleep.

I took this screen shot with my phone on Tuesday. South Carolina has over 63,000 Covid Cases now.

This screen shot is from today. As you can see the Covid cases have increased steadily in just two days.

The number of Covid cases are rising steadily here in South Carolina which has me a little on edge. I absolutely hate wearing masks, but you won't catch me outside without wearing one. This virus is serious, please take care of yourselves.

I've mentioned several times since this pandemic the importance of self care. I try to have a full self care routine at least twice a week. It really helps with relaxing and clearing my mind.

Sephora Haul Sneak Peek

Since my 7th Blogiversary is coming up, I wanted to treat myself to a little Sephora Haul. Stay tuned for an upcoming haul post!

Since I've been at home more, I've been doing a bit of organizing. I'm an organized person in general, but I have areas in my home I want to reorganize. I picked up a few Room Essentials Y Weave Baskets from Target. I had a few extra acrylic trays, so I'll probably use those as well.

In speaking of reorganizing, I replaced my door wreath about two months ago with this beauty. I love that I can use this wreath all throughout the year.

Last weekend I decluttered some of my old makeup and reorganizing my temporary vanity set up. I have a new vision for my beauty space in my room.

I haven't been cooking that much, but I Sunday I had a craving for Spaghetti, so I went grocery shopping.  Thankfully the grocery store had most of what I needed.  I wanted salad to go along with the Spaghetti, but produce was scarce again.  I love making Spaghetti in the crock pot, it was so good! You can view the my Slow Cooker Spaghetti and Meatball Post HERE

I don't always eat breakfast, but the mornings that I do, I'll usually have one of the following cereal, oatmeal, or eggs and toast.

UPDATED: FRIDAY, JULY 17th

This pandemic really can mess with ones mental health thats for sure. I have seen it effect people with anxiety. I think more kids later on will have issues since they are restricted to social interactions. It’s sad and I’m ready for this to be over with.
Your plates look delicious. I never miss breakfast. It is my favorite meal of the day.

I hope the sleep and anxiety gets better for you, at least some relief, I know it can be rough dealing with those. I get anxiety as well and it messes me up for a while. I hope the solutions from the counseling will help! Have a wonderful weekend lovely x

Pilar, I love spaghetti, one of my favorite meals! And it looks like you got the kind that I always get. I see you found tp. Hard to find right now, but Nel always finds it when she orders me groceries. Be careful when doing your shopping inside, will you? Love that wreath on your door, it's so pretty. Take care, Pilar.

Giiiiirl, self care is SO STINKING important. I was one of those who fell into a DEEP alcohol laced depression when this first started.. I straight up feel apart. I'm picking myself up and focusing heavily on time with family, yoga, meditation and overall wellness and its like coming out of a fog. Anyhoo, I'm glad to see you are doing so well love! <3 - http://domesticgeekgirl.com/treat-yourself/sunday-riley-luna-sleeping-night-oil/

It sounds like you're doing well despite the insominia and anxiety. Do you look at TV or your phone before bed? If you do, that could prevent you getting sleep? I had insomnia a few times and turning off technology helps. Before I try to go to sleep I like to read a book. The spaghetti looks delicious. That's a nice box CVS sent you!

I agree. There have been reports on the news on how the pandemic is taking a toll on mental health. So far I think I'm doing okay. I think the lack of sleep has been causing my anxiety and depression issues. I pray that the lack of social interaction won't have too much of an impact on children. I agree it's sad, but I know safety comes first. Even though I usually get up early I don't eat breakfast often. I'm trying to do better with that.

Thanks! I think the lack of sleep is causing my anxiety especially during the early morning. Some days are better than others, but hopefully will better sleep habits I can ease my anxiety symptoms. Counseling has been helping. Have a great weekend!

Thanks! I try to careful while I'm out. I'm only going out for essential purposes. When I leave the house I make sure to have my mask on. I was so shocked when I went to the store that day! There was a good bit of TP stocked. I love how the door wreath can be used year round! You take care as well!

Thanks! I'm glad that you're feeling better Gingi! I haven't had that many issues with depression, it's more of anxiety. Self care is so important, especially during a time like this.

Thanks! I usually look at my phone or TV before I fall asleep. The past few nights I turn both off and try to go to sleep. I haven't read a book before bed in a long time. I'm going to try reading before bed again. I love the box from CVS!
