August 19th

 Hello Everyone!

Today marks a very special day for me. 2 years ago today I almost died from Sepsis.

I still have trauma from that Sunday I was brought in by ambulance. I also still suffer from survivor guilt that this illness ultimately contributed in the death of my mama just a month prior.

2023 was a challenging year for me to say the least, but I feel so blessed and thankful to still be here. I still have complications from sepsis, but I'm no where near as sick as was before. I fought hard to get back a sense of life before sepsis.

I will always be grateful to God, my Aunt Dot and the medical staff at hospital. My aunt was the one that made me call 911 to get help. I was so delirious from my fever I was losing track of time and almost my life. I've shared my story over the past 2 years here on my blog.

Today I'm feeling blessed and thankful to be able to still be here.

I'm so glad we still have you here too, Pilar. That sounds like such a scary time for you. Bless your Aunt Dot who was right there with you through all of this. I know this day must be filled with thankfulness for you. love you, and I hope you get better with each day.

What a scary and terrible ordeal! So glad you're still with us Pilar! Do continue to take good care of yourself and stay healthy. Don't be afraid to wear a mask. Covid is still raging even though no one talks about it anymore and even a mild infection can cause so many health problems.
