Vintage Beauty Products That Are Still Used Today

 Hello Everyone!

There are so many skincare products and routines that are used today and it made me think about vintage beauty routines from the the 1940's-1960's etc. There are still many skincare products that were popular then that are still used in 2021.

These are a few beauty products that have stood the test of time and most of these products are affordable and cost under $10.00.

Ponds Cold Cream Makeup Remover Deep Cleanser

When I first started wearing makeup, Pond's Cold Cream was my holy grail to remove makeup. I've never been a fan of the scent, but this cream removes my all my makeup with ease. Sometimes I even use a few tissues to remove the cold cream like women used to do during their skincare routines.

I don't wear makeup that much these days, but when I do I started using Ponds Cold Cream again to remove my makeup. I see why this cream was (and still is) popular to remove makeup. My mom is still a fan of Pond's Cold Cream and my grandma used Pond's Cold Cream as well. Did you know that during the 1950s etc. some women also used Cold Cream as a moisturizer? *Special Thanks to Pond's for providing their Cold Cream for this post!

Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream

I remember when I was a teenager I used Noxzema as a face mask like many of the teenage girls and women during the 1950s. Friday or Saturday was my Noxzema mask night. I still use Noxzema from time to time.

I have noticed that Noxzema is more moisturizing than it was back in the early 2000's. I'm so happy about that. Noxzema is a great cleanser/mask, but I had to use a good moisturizer after usage to keep my skin from feeling dry.

Vaseline Original Unscented Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) has so many Placing Vaseline under my eyes to reduce puffiness has to be one of my favorite vintage skincare hacks. A little Vaseline goes a long way and my puffiness is gone.

Women also used Vaseline as a moisturizer. I have put Vaseline on my face a few times during extreme cold weather, but I only use a small amount so my face won't become too oily. Also if you want super soft lips, try putting a Vaseline on your lips. I do this in the Winter especially before bed. My lips are so soft by morning. Did you know that women also used to add sugar to Vaseline to create a skincare scrub? That is a technique that is still used today.

Dove White Moisturizing Beauty Bar

Dove has been s staple in my home since I was a little girl. I always remember seeing Dove. I was only 6 when my grandmother died, but I remember that she had the smoothest softest face. My mom told me that my grandmother used Dove often and that her during her beauty routine. A cleansed face, and a moisturized faced.

I like that Dove Beauty is so gentle, and cleanses my face well. I think that Dove will always be a staple in my skincare routine. Did I mention that I love the way Dove smells?!

The evolution of beauty and skincare has changed in so many ways over the years. What are some of your favorite beauty/skincare products or hacks? What did your mothers or grandmothers use during their beauty routines?

Clinique Beauty Routine

 Hello Everyone!

*Disclaimer: This post contains a few PR Samples provided by *Clinique. I would like to thank Clinique for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own. Product information, courtesy of clinique.com

Today I'm going to be sharing my Clinique Beauty Routine with you. I'll going to show how I prep my skin before I apply my makeup and I'm going to create a makeup using mostly Clinique Products.

Clinique Skincare Prep

Skincare preparation is so important before I put on my makeup. It keeps my skin healthy, and it helps apply my makeup better. Here are the steps in order that I used during my skincare prep routine

* Clinique All About Clean Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formul

I was sent this soap with Clinique PR, but I have been using this mild soap for years.  The soap reduces the oil in my skin without drying my skin. The soap is mild so it's not irritating and it's great for daily use.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (toner)

Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly (hydration)

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (moisturizing)

*Clinique Even Better Clinical Radical Dark Spot Corrector + Interrupter

This is my new holy grail for a dark spot corrector. The formula feels like a lightweight serum and it works well with fading the dark spots that I get on my cheeks.

Clinique Makeup Routine

*Clinique sent over their *NEW Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25 in WN 98 Cream Caramel. I'm a huge fan of Clinique's foundations, so I was excited to try this new one. I love that this is a serum foundation because the foundation is moisturizing. The formula feels very creamy and smooth. I have the shade WN 98 Cream Caramel, but I think this is more of my Winter Shade. I'll probably need to get  for my Summer shade WN 100 Deep Honey.

Sephora and Ulta had a few half off sales and I picked up a few of the Clinique Even Better All-Over Concealer + Erasers this one is in the shade WN 94 Deep Neutral.

This concealer is so good! I have dark circles so finding a full coverage concealer is a must for me. This concealer gives a blurred effect and it apply smoothly without any caking.

I like how flawless the foundation looks paired with concealer. Both feel so lightweight which makes me happy that I can wear this foundation and concealer during the warmer humid months.

For the rest of my makeup look I created a soft sultry Spring look.

* Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen

* Clinique High Impact Mascara

* Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop

This is my first time using Clinique Eye Makeup and Blush. The mascara makes my lashes look so full and the eyeliner pen glides smoothly across my lids to create a winged liner. The Cheek Pop goes on a little sheer, but it buildable to add the amount of pop of color I wanted.

What are some of your favorite Clinique Products? Have you tried the new foundation and concealer?

Meet Replenix

 Hello Everyone!

*Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples provided by Replenix. I would like to thank Replenix for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own. Product information, courtesy of replenix.com

Today I have a skincare brand I would like to introduce to you called Replenix. A few months ago a brand rep reached out to me to see if I would like to try a few new products. Since skincare is important to me and I read up on the brand, I wanted to know more about Replenix skincare products.

Meet Replenix

Featuring our powerful, proprietary acne-fighting and resurfacing blend of Salicylic and Glycolic Acid in their purest, most potent forms, this advanced cleanser is scientifically formulated to be tough on acne without over-drying skin.  Dermatologist-developed to powerfully and effectively remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, the formula also includes our signature, proprietary Green Tea Polyphenol Technology allowing it to be uniquely gentle, calming and soothing skin while providing superior antioxidant protection.

My Thoughts

First thing I noticed was the top was semi broken. The part that keeps the top closed was lodged into part of the product that is supposed to come out of. Since the product was technically still sealed it was alright to use it. I did try to contact Replenix, but no response, but when I posted my photos Replenix commented on them, but still no response about the top. Replenix if you're reading this, please do better with your customer service.
Update: As of 4/11/21 (Sunday) I received a response and I should receive a new cleanser. Thank you Replenix for your response.

Outside of the customer service issue, the cleanser is pretty good so far. The cleanser smells really good, a baby powder scent (or at least that's what the cleanser smells like to me). My skin didn't feel over dried or stripped after I washed my face. Since I've been having allergy issues I have noticed dead skin on my face which this cleanser removed without irritating my face. I like skincare product such as this one that contain Salicylic and Glycolic Acid because of their benefits. This is a product that is definitely worth giving a try in general, but especially if you're having stressed skin.

An intensely pure, medical grade, ultra-hydrating serum with fractionated hyaluronic acid quenches dehydrated, dull skin for a supple, smooth, plump-looking complexion. Visibly reducing the signs of aging, skin appears brighter, firmer and rejuvenated as skin’s barrier is protected from damaging free radicals.

My Thoughts

This serum is very hydrating. I typically use more hydrating products during the colder months. A little goes a long way and this serum keeps my face hydrating throughout the night. The other day I used this serum during the morning and my face stay hydrated throughout most of the day as well. This serum is lightweight and has a slight medicinal scent. The scent isn't overpowering at all. I mentioned that I've been having a lot of allergy issues lately, and my skin needs the hydration. My skin does look more rejuvenated after I use this serum.

Overall, so far so good. I like that both products contain Hyaluronic Acid and feel gentle on my skin. Replenix is a promising brand and I would to try more of their products.

 Hello Everyone!

*Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples provided by Plum Beauty. I would like to thank Plum Beauty for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own. Product information, courtesy of cvs.com

As many of you know I take self care seriously. Self care not only helps me feel better, but self care also helps me focus better. What's self care without self care beauty tools?! Today I'm going to be sharing a few new beauty tools from Plum Beauty.

I was introduced to Plum Beauty a few months ago in a PR Samples from CVS. I received a facial cleansing brush that I loved, but it was defected. (It worked well, but it wouldn't cut off unless I removed the batteries). I also have a Plum Beauty Jade Roller that I use on regular basis during my skin care routines.

My Thoughts

Gua Sha's are one of my favorite beauty tools  because Gua Sha's help with blood circulation throughout my face. This is a great tool to use after applying a serum or moisturizer. You can put this in the fridge, but this Gua Sha already feels cold to the touch.

My Thoughts

Finally I have a Facial Micro Roller that I can use that doesn't irritate my face! The needles on the roller aren't harsh on my skin. This Micro Roller gives me a spa like experience for an affordable price. I also like how this Facial Micro Roller comes with an acrylic case. This makes storage easier and great for travel.

Plum Beauty Cooling Facial Roller

Calm inflamed skin and reduce puffiness with the Plum Beauty Cooling Facial Roller.

Benefits

Made from high-quality stainless steel

Store in fridge or freezer for best results

Soothes and calms irritated skin

My Thoughts

My skin has been so stressed lately due to allergies so I've been using this cooling Facial Roller for the past few weeks. This roller feels so cool and soothing on my face. This is a great product in general, but if your having stressed skin I highly recommend getting one of these rollers.

Bring the SPA into your home and enjoy a customized sonic cleanse and heated massage with the Plum Beauty Thermal Silicone Sonic Facial Brush. Use its variable speeds to help lift and remove the most stubborn dirt and impurities. Then, pamper yourself with a thermal massage for ultimate relaxation.

My Thoughts

This Thermal Sonic Facial Brush is one of my new favorite products. One side is for cleansing your face and the other side is for massaging. This facial brush has a warm setting that feels so nice on my face. The warm setting doesn't overheat. This Thermal Sonic Facial Brush is another good tool to have for an at home Spa Experience.

Did you know that next month is Stress Awareness Month? Stress Awareness Month has been recognized every April since 1992. Self Care is a great way to combat stress. I try to focus more on my self care routines.  These beauty tools help with relaxation and pampering. You can find Plum Beauty at CVS, Target, and Amazon.

Spring Scents

 Hello Everyone!

I have another Spring inspired post that I want to share. Today I'm going focus on Spring Scents. I love Spring, but Spring does not like me lol. As many of you know I have horrible allergy and sinus year round, but during the Spring like most people my allergy and sinus problems are worse. I have to enjoy Springtime scents inside my home.

My go to scents for include pineapple, clean linen, and lemon. As you can see from the photo I use both candles and wax warmers. I bought these wax warmers last year and I like to take them out for Spring and Summer.

I'm so  happy that Strawberry Lemon (Bee Postive) is back. This is one of my favorite hand soaps from Bath & Body Works. If you like Pineapple Mango Candle you'll probably like the hand soap as well. It smells really good. Watermelon Lemonade and Peach Bellini are also some of my favorite secrets.

I was so undecided about getting Whipped Vanilla Chiffon. It was on sale for $6.50 and I had a gift card so I figured why not?! Here's my take...The Shower Gel and Lotion does have a lemon scent. It almost smells like a lemon cookie with hints of vanilla. The vanilla isn't overpowering, and the lemon isn't too sweet. Honestly I don't think that I have anything like this scent in my collection. In my opinion Whipped Vanilla Chiffon smells nothing like Warm Vanilla Sugar. I actually really dislike Warm Vanilla Sugar lol.

Spring Beauty

 Hello Everyone!

My last post I shared a few of my Springtime Fashion pieces, so today I want to share my Spring Beauty Collective Haul.

I love to shop at CVS for my beauty product since I tend to use a lot of my extra care points to get discounts on products. I also use coupons and look for sales. CVS can be pricey, but if you do your homework and sign up for their extra care card you can save a good bit of money. Most of these skincare products are repurchases except for the Olay Body Washes. These were on sale at CVS, and I wanted to try these body washes.

Now on to the beauty portion of my post. I picked up another Spa Sciences Echo Makeup Brush and a few new polishes. I wanted to get Spring Colors

Left:
Pop-arazzi Nail Polish: Frosted Fairytale

Middle:
Pop Beauty Nail Polish: Pom Pom
Pop Beauty Nail Polish: Marshmallow

Right:
Pop Beauty Nail Polish: ZZZ Pink
Pop Beauty Nail Polish: Supernova

There are so many different makeup products that have been releasing lately. I wanted to look for makeup with bright and neutral colors.

Pixi Beauty Collaboration Palettes

For the past few years Pixi Beauty has been one of my favorite drugstore brands. Their products are good quality. Recently Pixi released a few collaboration palettes with a few influencers.

Left to Right

Pixi + Louise Row CREAM Rouge Palette (Louise Row)

Pixi + Denise Mind Your Own Glow (Denise)

Pixi + Tones & Textures (Tina Yong)

Pixi + Promise Shapeshifter Palette (Promise)

Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette

I received this as a gift from my mom for Valentine's Day.  I really like the colors and theme for this palette.

Stay tuned for reviews and makeup looks coming soon! What are some of your favorite beauty products for Spring?

Spring Fashion

 Hello Everyone!

I'm so happy Spring is here! Pastel colors, lightweight cute clothes, and sandals are some of my favorite things to wear during Springtime.

Leggings

In my opinion you can never have enough leggings lol. I love these leggings from Old Navy so much! I received a few pair of these leggings for Christmas and I had to get a few more.

Dresses

This dress sells out so quickly on Forever21, but I was in luck when I found it online at forever21.com on sale. I love shopping during off season, you can find so many discounts.

Since the pandemic started last year I haven't been getting dressed up all that often, but I plan to change that this Spring. Even if I'm not going anywhere when you look good, you feel good. My mom gave me this beautiful dress as a gift last year. I love wearing flowy lightweight dresses.

Shoes

Last year I bought the white and black Espadrilles Sandals, but I was missing the Blush color. Back in January I finally found them on Target.com on sale so I quickly added them to my cart. These shoes are so comfortable and can be paired with so many different outfits.

I typically don't wear sneakers much since it's so hot and humid during the warmer months, but I do love wearing my Converse.

Intimates

In my last post I shared that I partnered with Adore Me for their Walkin on Sunshine Campaign and chose a few new bright pieces for Spring.

Don't forget to check out my Walkin on Sunshine: Adore Me Haul

What are your favorite fashions for Spring?
