Purell Products Review

Hello Everyone!

*These post is sponsored by Purell. All opinions are 100% my own.

Since I'm sick couldn't think of a better day to discuss today's post since it's all about fighting germs and sanitation. I was thinking that allergies and sinuses were the problem, but I think this is more of a Summer cold (I feel terrible lol). That brings me to today's review for Purell Sanitizing Products. I want to thank Purell for sending me these products for review!

About the Purell Brand

PURELL Hand Sanitizer was invented in 1988 by GOJO to meet the needs of healthcare providers and restaurants operators looking for ways to reduce the spread of germs. Healthcare workers needed to kill germs on their hands when they couldn’t get to soap and water. And restaurant operators needed extra germ-fighting protection to reduce the risk of food contamination.

PURELL Hand Sanitizer was a great success, not only because it was effective at killing 99.99% of most common germs, but because it was convenient, gentle and a pleasure to use. The dispensers and bottles could be placed anywhere, so hand hygiene was no longer restricted to the confines of a sink. And people enjoyed using PURELL Hand Sanitizer because it was refreshing and gentle.

Soon its popularity grew. People who used it at work also thought it would be great to use when they were at home or on the go.

In 1997, PURELL Hand Sanitizer was made available to consumers, forever changing the way the world stays well. It soon became America’s #1 hand sanitizer and a significant part of popular culture.

Today, PURELL Hand Sanitizer remains one of the most recognized brands in the world. It defines the hand sanitizer category and is the brand most preferred by doctors, professionals and consumers everywhere.

And now we’ve taken the next step and introduced PURELL Advanced Hand Sanitizer, the ultimate in germ-killing effectiveness.

My Thoughts

I always keep hand sanitizer and wipes around. We know that cold and flu season will be approaching in next few months, so it's important that you protect yourself against germs. These items will definitely come in handy!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Rapid Mositure Spray (Cocoa Butter & Aloe) Review

Hello Everyone!

Disclaimer: The product in this post was sent to me from Palmer's for review purposes All opinions are 100% my own

Spray lotions seem to be so popular again this year. Today I have a new spray lotion review on Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Rapid Moisture Spray Lotion.

About the Product and Claims Etc.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Rapid Moisture Spray Lotion provides instant cooling and moisture. This non-greasy formula sprays on easily and our RapidSorb Technology allows for quick absorption, leaving skin soft, smooth and refreshed

- Cocoa Butter & Aloe
- Instant Cooling
- Fast Absorbing
- Non-Staining
- 24 Hour Moisture
- Non-Greasy
- Even Application
- Paraben & Phthalate Free

For best results, hold can 3-4 inches from skin and spray in a continuous motion. Rub gently into skin

Key Ingredients

- Cocoa Butter: a rich natural moisturizer that leaves skin soft and silky, tranforming even the roughest, driest areas into buttery soft skin.

- Vitamin E: a powerful antioxidant that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and imperfections on the skin, giving a more even and toned appearance.

- Aloe: cools and soothes skin

My Thoughts

I feel a little conflicted on how I feel about this spray lotion. Let's start with the pros. I like the instant cooling from the spray and the aloe does help cool and soothe my skin. This is a great spray to use when your in a rush, or just for everyday use. The lotion has nice light chocolate scent mixed with aloe and the spray is non greasy. The spray is easy to use, it's very light weight, and it absorbs rather quickly. If you don't like thick textured lotions, then you may want to look into getting this product. I also like how this product is free of parabens and phthalates.

As for the cons, I really wish this spray provided more moisture. After an hour and half, my skin felt kind of dull and dry. The only claim I find to be untrue the 24 hour moisture. I typically don't have dry skin as problem, so I know it was the lotion that made my skin feel dry. Throughout the day I reapplied the this lotion about 3 times. To help provide more moisture to my skin, I added a little of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula that's in the jar in addition to using the spray lotion and the problem of lack of moisture was solved.

This is the type of cocoa butter I was talking about that I use to add extra moisture to the rapid spray lotion.

That's really the only con I have with this product, the lack of consistency in moisture. I probably would purchase this spray lotion because my pros outweigh my cons list. If you don't mind reapply a few times throughout the day (maybe you won't encounter the same issues I had), then I recommend giving this a try.

Why I Use a Daily Planner

Hello Everyone!

Today I want to talk a little about organization. Ever since I can remember,  I've always tried to be an organized person. I like things to be organized and neat. I tend to keep an agenda on organizing my daily activities and goals I want to accomplish.

Why do I keep a planner?

- helps me stay on track on a daily basis

- helps me with staying on a schedule with.
  publishing my blog posts

- helps me remember to do tasks

- provides a place to keep my ideas

- provides a place to write down important events
  such as birthdays, appointments, etc.

-  helps provide organization so I won't overwhelm
myself with activities. Writing in a planner helps
me keep my daily activities in perspective

My Planner

I needed a new planner, so last month I purchased this Victoria's Secret PINK planner with a rewards card I had. This planner is geared toward college students, but it's a simple planner that anyone can use.

The pages are blank for this week because I didn't get a chance to write my weekly agenda before I published this post.

Do you use a daily planner? How do you organize your daily tasks?

I'm going to try to describe the bars to the best of my ability and I will rate them on a 1-10 scale
1=lowest and 10=highest

1. Nakd Cocoa Delight- Rating: 4

This bar has a very bland dark chocolate taste with nuts and raisins. This bar tasted is ok.

2. Nakd Cocoa Mint- Rating: 5

I could definitely taste chocolate in this bar. This bar puts me in the mind of Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies except for a bland to semi-sweet taste with nuts.

3. Cocoa Orange- Rating: 6

I was actually surprised that I liked this bar since I don't like chocolate and orange together. This bar has a sweet orange and chocolaty taste. Pretty good

4. Caffe Mocha- Rating: 3

The only way I can decide this is by saying it taste just like it sounds coffee and chocolate. It has a sweet taste, but I don't care too much for the taste.

5. Nakd Cocoa Crunch- Rating: 1

This bar really didn't taste much like chocolate which is kind of strange being called Cocoa Crunch and all. I only tasted the nuts and raisins in this bar. Not a fan of this bar.

6. Nakd Banana Crunch- Rating: 7

This bar tasted like semi sweet fresh banana and the cashews tasted fresh as well.

7. Nakd Apple Crunch- Rating: 2

This bar tasted like a sour apple. When I write sour, I mean VERY BITTER. Once I could get over the bitter taste, that's when I could taste the raisins and cashews.

8. Nakd Ginger Bread- Rating: 1

One word for this bar YUCK!! I really like ginger bread, but this bar didn't taste anything like ginger bread. I also didn't taste any pecans, but I did taste almonds which I dislike.

9. Nakd Pecan Pie- Rating: 6

This bar tasted sweet and the pecans tasted fresh.

10. Nakd Cashew Cookie- Rating: 7

This bar tasted like fresh cashews. This bar has more of a wholesome cashew taste rather than a sweet taste.

11. Nakd Rhubarb & Custard- Rating: 1

I don't like rhubarb and the raisins and nuts didn't help this bar taste wise in the least.

12. Nakd Bakewell Tart- Rating: 7 (This was a freebie)

This bar tasted primarily like cashews with a hint of dates.

13. Nakd Strawberry Crunch- Rating: 8

Out of all the bars, this one hast the freshest taste. The strawberries, raisins, and nuts balance well together.

14. Nakd Berry Delight- Rating: 7

This bar tasted like sweet raspberries and cashews.

My Thoughts

I'm all for eating healthy and promoting good health, but I must admit eating these bars did require me to have an open mind about it since I'm not used to eating gluten free and vegan foods. I noticed that after I ate the bars, I didn't feel as tired. I really liked that I had more energy when I ate these bars. I'm not a big sweet eater so the lack of sugar taste in some of the bars didn't really bother me too much. I'll mention this again, I had to have an open mind to try these bars because some of the bars tasted a little bland and dry.  Also please read the ingredients in the bars and check with your doctor before consumption. If you have allergies like me, it's so important you pay attention to the ingredients because these bars contain nuts, peanuts and sesame seeds etc. Before I ate these bars I decided to take a Benadryl just to prevent any potential problems with the ingredients. I was fine, I didn't  have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients. Also if you're lactose intolerant, you may like these bars because they are dairy free which is another plus.

I like the health benefits in these bars and I'm just not all that crazy about the taste of a few the bars. In a nutshell some of the bars were ok, and some were just not good. You probably already noticed how I felt about some of these bars based on reviews and ratings. These aren't the sweetest snacks, but that isn't to surprising with these snacks being health foods. So if you don't like bland tasting type food or gluten free products you may not like these bars. If you like trying healthy snacks with beneficial health prospects then you may want to try these bars. It all depends on your taste, and having an open mind makes the difference if you will or will not like these snacks.

Girl Talk: Tomboxes First Impressions Review

Hello Everyone!

This post is sponsored by Tomboxes. All opinions are 100% my own.

There are so many monthly subscription boxes out there today, sometimes it can be challenging to decide which box is right for you. I was recently contacted by a company called Tomboxes to write  a review about their company. Thank you Tomboxes for sending me these products to review!

What is Tombox?

Tombox is is short for Time Of the Month. This a monthly subscription box that includes pads or tampons, makeup, & jewelry in time for your monthly cycle. Each Tombox is shipped out every 28 days.

On the site you will be asked a few questions that will help your customize your Toxbox that include:

1. Skin
2. Style
3. Jewelry Style
4. Makeup
5. Health & Beauty
6. Eyes
7.Hair
8. Tampons
9. Subscription

These are the items I received for the August Tombox.

- Always Ultra Thin Overnight Pads 14 Count

I switch between using tampons and pads, but I decided to use pads for this month. As you can see, you get a full package of pads (or tampons if that's what you select)

- How cute is the beautiful box all the makeup products came in?!

A good bit of makeup products came in the beautiful box. Pretty Impressive

- I wasn't too impressed with the jewelry for this month's Tombox. The earrings seemed a little flimsy and the bracelets look like hair ties with gold metal added to bands.

My Thoughts

I think this is an awesome idea for a monthly subscription box! You get to choose full sized name brand sanitary products (pads or tampons) that cater to your period. I didn't receive any candy, but I hear during the colder months is when you will receive chocolate candy. It makes perfect since to receive chocolate candy in the cooler months since chocolate would melt in the box during the Summer.

Another plus is that you can choose beauty products and jewelry. I love makeup, so I find this to be very beneficial! By my comments earlier you can tell I wasn't impressed at all with the jewelry for August's Tombox.

Even though it's called Time of Month Box, you don't have to buy pads or tampons. You get to customize your box. I think that's good because you don't have to worry about buying a box of products that you don't need or that you don't want in general. Depending on your customized choices your box can be low as $10.00 a month or up to $28.00 a month. For example, If you decide to double on your makeup & jewelry and add a pack of Gillette Venus Razors your subscription will be about $28.00. Honestly I think Tombox is a great idea for a monthly subscription box! I definitely feel that girls and women can benefit from having the products that are available in Tomboxes.

I highly recommend that girls and women check out their social media links

How To Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Hello Everyone!

One of my most dreaded task includes washing my makeup brushes lol. Washing my makeup brushes isn't not one of my favorite things to do, but nonetheless it has to be done. I try to wash my brushes at least every two weeks Cleaning your makeup brushes on a regular basis is important because you want to get rid of dirt, bacteria, old makeup, and oil that your makeup brushes has between the bristles. I know there are many different methods of washing your makeup brushes, but I find the method I've been using over the year has kept my makeup brushes clean, shapely, and soft.

You'll Need:

- Dirty Makeup Brushes
- Baby Shampoo
- Towel
- Warm Water

1. First, run your brush bristles under warm water. Don't run your brushes under hot water! Also keep the bristles pointing downwards. If your point your brushes upward you can loosen the glue and ultimately ruin your brushes.

2. Add baby shampoo in the palm of your hand. You don't need that much, but if your brushes are extra dirty you may want to use a little more baby shampoo to clean them.

3. Swirl brush into shampoo until lathered

4.Once you've washed the dirt out of your makeup brush, rinse in warm water. You can squeeze the excess water from your makeup brush by holding squeezing the bristles downward between your index finger and thumb

5. Lay your brushes flat on a towel and make sure you spread them out so they don't overlap. I like to wash my brushes in the evening so they can dry overnight. You can also turn your brushes before you go to bed to help them dry evenly (if you wash your brushes earlier in day you can turn them once every few hours to help them dry evenly) By morning your brushes should dry. Just make sure your brushes are completely dry before usage.

How do you wash your makeup brushes?
