Zoya Twinkling Collection: Winter/Holiday 2019

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples provided by Zoya for review purposes. I would like to thank  Zoya for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own. Product information is courtesy of zoya.com

It's November, so that means holiday products are currently starting to appear. Zoya released their new Winter/Holiday 2019 Twinkling Collection. I love how the colors in this collection can be worn during both all the upcoming holidays.

Give yourself the gift of glistening shades this Holiday season with the Twinkling Collection – the newest line-up from Zoya. Twinkling features an array of vibrant tones to brand new finishes that are like gift-wrap for your nails.

Zoya Twinkling Sampler A

Kaede– Zoya in Kaede can best be described as a gold metallic fleck with holographic foil, the perfect overlay to pair with your favorite Zoya shade, or wear alone to dazzle the night away.

Enza – Zoya in Enza can best be described as a medium macadamia cream.

Steph – Zoya in Steph can best be described as a muted Winter pink cream with a warm undertone.

Mai – Zoya in Mai can best be described as a sophisticated rosewood cream.

Tieran – Zoya in Tieran can best be described as a medium toned charcoal cream.

Tanya  – Zoya in Tanya can best be described as a festive candy red cream.

I can't talk about this collection without talking about the show stopper, Kaede! Look at that gold metallic fleck and holographic foil! I love that Zoya selects colors for their collections that you can wear throughout the current season and in this case, the Winter/Holidays. I wear dark colors during the Winter, but I'm glad to see nude hues in this collections.  I'm also glad to see Tanya in this collection. Can you really have a holiday season without a classic red?!

Zoya Twinkling Sample B

Rosa – Zoya in Rosa can best be described as a bright and cheerful fuchsia with a pearl effect.

Gabi – Zoya in Gabi can best be described as a midnight purple aborigine cream.

Sedona – Zoya in Sedona can best be described as a warm, spiced mahogany with a pearl effect.

Jen – Zoya in Jen can best be described a royal sapphire blue with a hint of purple.

Alessia – Zoya in Alessia can best be described as an icy blue metallic with hints of silver.

Jett (ZP1024) – Zoya in Jett can best be described as a frosted silver with a flakey texture that dries down matte.

I love traditional Christmas colors, but I also love wearing blue. Jen and Alessia are two gorgeous hues! I mentioned that wear nude hues during the Winter, but I these darker hues are that I typically gravitate during the colder months. I think that Sedona is going to be one of staple colors next season. Sedona is vampy hue with sparkle that can be worn for any occasion. What are your favorite colors from the Zoya Twinkling Collection?

Glitter Inspired Thanksgiving Makeup

Hello Everyone!

Every year I like to create holiday makeup looks starting with Thanksgiving. For this year's Thanksgiving Inspired Makeup look, I went for a glitter eyeshadow paired with a vampy lipstick. Besides who said you can't wear glitter for Thanksgiving?!

Products Used

Since this is a Thanksgiving makeup look, I kept the glitter eyeshadow subtle and paired it with a brown transition shade and simple winged liner. I didn't want to do a full glam, but I did add a pop of color on my cheeks.

To finish my look I went for a vampy lipstick. If you've been following me the last 6 years, you know that I love wearing a dark lipstick during the Fall.

Neostrata Smooth Surface Glycolic Peel Campaign

Hello Everyone!

I've partnered with NEOSTRATA for their Smooth Surface Glycolic Peel Campaign. All Opinions are 100% my own. Product information provided by neostrata.com

#neostrataglycolicpeel #neostrataglow #neostrata

I've been having acne issues for the past few months. Summer was so unkind to my skin and hair. I've been having fine bumps and a few whiteheads on my face.
I started using NEOSTRATA'S Smooth Surface Glycolic Peel to treat my acne issues.

Smooth Surface Glycolic Peel
High-strength exfoliating treatment

Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, roughness and pore size when used as part of a daily AHA skincare regimen. Skin is renewed and refreshed with an even tone.

- IDEAL FOR: Normal Skin, Oily Skin

KEY INGREDIENTS

10% GLYCOLIC ACID (AHA) + AMINOFIL

Smooth Surface Glycolic Peel
High-strength exfoliating treatment
10% AHA + AMINOFIL
Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinklesRefines skin textureImproves skin toneAt-home Glycolic Acid peel boosts an antiaging regimenEasy, one-step peel does not require neutralization or rinsingFragrance-free, oil-free

HOW TO APPLY

Pour the entire bottle of solution onto the jar of pads before the first use. Discard the bottle. For optimal results, wipe pad over cleansed face every evening, avoiding lips and eyes. Gently massage in any remaining fluid. Follow with a NEOSTRATA cream as desired. Sunburn Alert: This product contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

This product is specially formulated to provide a potent and  precise delivery  of Glycolic Acid while maintaining an optimal pH of this high-strength formulation. My Thoughts and Results

This is my first time trying Neostrata. The scent is the first thing I noticed. The scent of the solution was overwhelming and strong. I was looking forward to trying this product because Glycolic Acid is supposed to help with clearing and evening your skin. I've been having more hyperpigmentation issues the past few months due to allergies and this heat, but after using this product I've noticed that the hyperpigmentation has faded, and I haven't experienced any irritation. These peel pads are for those who have normal and oily skin. The peel pads aren't drying, but if you have dry skin, this product may cause your skin to feel drier.

I typically go for more affordable skincare products, but $72.00 is expensive for the quality of the product. Yes I saw results, and the product is decent, but I think the product could be more affordable. If this was a double pack then I could see the price being $72.00.

Early Morning Beauty Routine

Hello Everyone!

One thing about being self taught MUA, includes getting up pretty early to do clients makeup. I think the earliest I've gotten up to do makeup for a client was around 4am and that was for a photoshoot.

First I take a shower. There's nothing like a nice hot shower in the morning. Besides taking a shower also helps wake me on those early mornings.

I've mentioned that I've been having acne issues the past few months, but my skin is starting to clear up. (Thanks to Derma E Acne Skincare Products).  On a typically morning I use Clinique Liquid Facial Soap for Oily Skin.

One of my holy grail Skincare products in the morning.  After using this facial soap, I use a moisturizer to prep my skin for makeup. On the days I don't wear makeup I'll just use moisturizer in genral.

I don't always wear makeup when I have a makeup clients, but when I do I try to wear a lightweight makeup products. Loreal is one of my go to makeup brands that I include in my morning makeup routine.

Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation and Concealer are two more of my favorite morning makeup products.

This is my favorite setting Spray to use, especially on those long days.

I don't wear makeup all the time when I do clients makeup lol.  I like to wear makeup when I working with new clients so they can see my work. This is a throwback to a day I wore makeup.

Another throwback to a day I didn't wear makeup.

Fall 2019 Urban Decay Must Haves

Hello Everyone!

Fall is here, but living in South Carolina the weather can be crazy. For instance one day last week it was 85 degrees and humid and the next night we experienced our first freeze lol. I base a lot of my daily makeup decisions on the weather for the day. Today I'm going to share a few of my Fall Must Have products from Urban Decay.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

This is my favorite setting spray.  When I use this spray after applying my makeup, my makeup stays in tack. Seriously my makeup doesn't budge and my makeup looks fresh at the end of the day. Humidity doesn't stand a chance with this setting spray lol. Here's another tip, apply this spray before your foundation and your foundation will look flawless.

 Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation

In speaking of flawless UD Stay Naked Foundation has been my go to foundation for the past few months. This is a new foundation that was released over the Summer. I like using this foundation in general, but especially during those days were the weather is humid.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pen in Perversion

This black eyeliner is intense! I feel a smokey eye and this eyeliner go well together. This eyeliner glides easily on my lower lash line and this eyeliner creates a fierce winged liner.

Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Mascara

I was so happy to see a waterproof  version of the UD Perversion Mascara. The original mascara is one of my favorites and this new version has quickly become one of my favorites as well. This is a waterproof mascara that isn't difficult to remove when taking off my makeup.

Urban Decay Stay Naked Correcting Concealer

Goodbye dark under eye circles!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Blackmail

Fall is not Fall for me unless I have a variety of vampy lipsticks. I was recently sent this lipstick in PR, and the color is gorgeous!

Oh Honey! Feat. Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette

Hello Everyone!

You may remember in September I reviewed the Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette, today I wanted to share a look that I created using this beautiful palette.

Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette

Oh Honey! 🍯

Sting, Drip, and Honey are the eyeshadows used in the eye makeup look. I also used Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy on t

I went heavy with using Sting in the crease. Fornmy lid I wanted to really make things pop with using Honey all over the lid. I swatched this color in my review, but this shade is really intense in color, and I love it. I also used a lighter color, Drip in the crease so I could go on top of that shade with Urban Decay's
Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy.

Spiritual Journey/Thankful

Hello Everyone!

I know this year isn't over, but this year has taught me a lot...spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

I've had a few struggles with my faith. I've never let go of my belief in God, but my faith did waver at times. During the times while I was struggling with my faith, I prayed. I prayed even when I didn't know what I was praying for. I'm constantly learning that when I'm afraid, lost, scouraged, and during the good times I turn to God. The bible states our God is a jealous God. I think I saw that in more ways than one this year. I was depending on my own lack of understanding instead of trusting and waiting on God. You know that saying, "When you make plans God laughs."

When life gives you lemons, use them to make lemondade

When I say that I've experienced horrible things this year, I mean that in every sense of the word horrible. Through my emotional pain and suffering, it was sometimes to hard to believe this was part of God's plan. I would often ask myself how do I trust the process when I felt constant disappointment and discouragement. On this spiritual journey so far in my life I've noticed I lose things, but I also gain things back. Sometimes the worst emotional pain you experience can be your greatest blessing in the long run.

Yesterday there were tornados in South Carolina. This  picture was taken moments before it started storming badly. If I had to explain how I felt sometimes during the past few months it would be like this photo. Very stormy.

One day Last month when I felt like everything was wrong, and I mean everything was going wrong, A phone call changed my life for the better. I knew that it had to be a sign from God. I've heard so much throughout my life that there's going to be that one moment when you feel like all hope is gone and God is going to come in right on time. I've witnessed the power of God's goodness quite a few times in my life. I'm am forever grateful for all the times God guided me through the darkness.

I believe that throughout all the negative things you may experience, there is always something to be grateful for in life. I'm thankful for so much. I write thankful posts every year during November, but this year I wanted to start the month off with this post.

My Thankful Throw Pillow from last year

- I'm thankful for the strength God gave me to get through some of the things I faced this year.

- I'm thankful for having a loving, supportive, and kind mother.

- I'm thankful for never giving up on myself and my dreams.

- I'm thankful for having a roof over my head, and having basic necessities.

- I'm thankful for the opportunities that I have been given to continue to pursue my goals.

- I'm thankful for all of you that visit and support me here on my Blog and Instagram.

When I feel badly about things I try to remember that someone is out there praying and hoping for things that people sometimes take for granted.

Never forget this statment

I've always said on my blog that my relationship with God is my own. I'm not one to force my religious beliefs on anyone. What are you thankful for?

It's Almost Halloween!

Hello Everyone!

Thursday is Halloween! For the past few years I like to create some sort of halloween inspired makeup look, but since having this sinus infection, I doubt I'll create any looks costumes etc. Yes I'm still sick with this sinus infection! Anyway here are 3 looks that I've shared over the years.

I didn't plan on doing anything for Halloween in 2016. At the spur of the moment I created this kitty makeup look.

It's still kind of ironic that I decided to be a bumble bee two years ago since I'm terrified of them lol!

I had a lot of fun creating this look and I made the crown!

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween! Also, I wrote this months Lifestyle post ahead of this post, so don't forget to check that out! My Life in October
