Budget Shopping

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far (Im still fighting allergies and summer cold lol) Anyway, back to the purpose of todays post, shopping on a budget. In this instance Im focusing on fashion and accessories etc. As a budget shopper myself, I wanted to share a few of my own tips about spending wisely.

1. Do your shopping homework

This a major factor in my opinion to finding the best buys. Look out for bargains and sales etc. Many stores offer email signups to offer deals on their merchandise, especially around or on your birthday☺ You may even want to make a check list of the things you want and/or need to buy so you can get an idea of how much you want to spend.

2. Be observant of the time of year when you’re shopping

Now this is one of my favorite tips. You can almost guarantee that many stores etc. are going to have some sort of holiday sale throughout the year. Youve seen the commercials lol. Take advantage of this opportunity!! However, if you happen to miss a sale or items run out, dont worry you will get another opportunity to do some bargain shopping. You may even find better deals next time!

3. Shopping out of season or...shopping near the end of the current season

Many stores etc. offer great discounts for out of season merchandise. This is another wonderful way to stay within a budget. Going shopping near the end of a current season is also a great time to save. Vendors are trying to get rid of some of their current merchandise, so prices start to decrease. If you catch a good deal you may even save anywhere from 50 to 70% I once got a white coat for $20 that originally cost $60!

4. Use Coupons

Heres another great way to save money, use coupons. I stress the importance of signing up for email notifications from your favorite stores!! Usually you can get coupons with a code if you shop online or the company will send you coupons in the mail. I know some companies will do both. Also look in magazines; Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Lucky are notorious for offering cosmetics, beauty, and clothing store coupons.

5. Get Crafty

If youre a crafter like me you can purchase materials to make your own item fashion based items. For example when I make beaded jewelry, I look for websites that offer deals associated with the materials. When I make my crochet accessories (hats and scarves etc.) I look for good bargains on yarn. I usually get my materials from Michaels or Wal-Mart. You can find most craft items you need in your local craft store for a reasonable price, but remember to check online as well.

6. Spend Smartly

Ive found these tips have helped me save money over the years, and stay within in my budget. I hope these tips can help you as well☺ Happy Shopping!!

I like to think of myself as a bargain shopper and I like using coupons too. I like waiting for sales to get things as well.

Another great thing about sales, sometimes stores etc. allow you to combine coupons with an ongoing sale. So, even more discounts and savings!

Yes I agree about waiting for the sales, I always get my Guess bags in Dec sale and they are half price!

I know right! Dooney & Bourke also have good sales too before Christmas on their website. Last year they had some purses marked down half price too! It was just too bad that the purse I wanted sold out quickly. I just got a Coach purse instead lo
