Red Lips for Selena 2017

Hello Everyone!

Today marks the 22nd anniversary for Selena's death. I did a post like this last as well. I was super excited about Selena having a collection with MAC last year, but honestly I felt that MAC did a horrible job with the promotion of her collection. Typically I don't rant about MAC, but I have to admit I was rather disappointed especially with some of the makeup selections (apparently I wasn't alone on this). Selena was loved and adored by many people so I felt that her collection should have been more accessible to her fans. If you're an avid MAC lover you know what I'm talking about. They will release a collection and it will sell out within a day or the site will crash because of the online traffic. Sure you can go to the MAC counter,  but you better get there early and know what you want to purchase. I give MAC credit for re releasing Selena collection back in January, but by then I was just totally over it. Dear MAC if you're reading this please do better!

Selena was known for wearing a matte lip, so I decided to wear MAC's Ruby Woo (Retro Matte)

Last, but not least a picture of Selena. May her legacy live on.

Projects with Pilar: Spring Inspired Popcorn Stich Blanket

Hello Everyone!

*PR Samples for this post are provided by Lion Brand Yarns. All opinions are 100% my own.

Today I'm revealing my latest Projects with Pilar Post in Collaboration with Lion Brand Yarns. You may remember near the end of February I wrote a post telling you about the upcoming project I had with them and my first impressions on the skeins of yarns.  Since it's Spring I wanted to do a lavender and cream Afghan. I think these colors are beautiful and go perfect with the season as well as Easter. I also wanted to do something a popcorn stitch. I've done a few hats in this stitch, but I've always thought a blanket in a popcorn stitch looked so pretty.

The lavender and cream go so well together!

I'm unsure if I'm going to actually use this blanket or just leave it in the den for display throughout the Spring.

I added a pink rabbit to along with this post since Easter is next month.

Folded blanket

The skeins of yarn that I used are from the Pound of Love Collection and it's so soft! You get truly get quality with this brand of yarn! I really enjoyed collaborating with Lion Brand Yarns for this project:)

Don't forget to check out my first impressions post.

Selfies and Sunny Days in South Carolina

Hello Everyone!

Today I wanted to share a few selfies that I've taken outside on warm days during February and March. South Carolina typically has warm weather throughout the Winter and this past Winter was no exception lol. Sure we had days were it was freezing outside, but this weather has been so unpredictable! Side Note: I'm only wearing lipstick in the pictures, so I didn't list the products since these aren't makeup looks. Let me know if you would like to know the names of the lipsticks in the comments section.

Wearing bright colors

I practically live in maxi dresses and dresses in general when the weather is warm/hot.

A warm day in February

When I took this picture this past Wednesday it was 88° outside!

The day before Spring :) Wearing a bright red lip

What's the weather like where you live?

The Kindness of Friends

Hello Everyone!

One of my dear friends on Instagram Julia sent me a few items in the mail last week. I wanted to share with you the items she sent me :)
Side Note: Julia also sent me a card with a handwritten letter, but I typically don't share those type of personal things on social media.

I think giving a Bible to someone is one of best gifts a person can receive. The Bible is filled with stories of inspiration and hope that helps us get through life and it's challenges.

I love how you can color the illustrations in this Bible. You're able to get inspiration and color at
the same time. I've seen adult coloring books as a way to relieve stress and anxiety, but I like this idea much better. Julia even sent colored pencils (as seen in to my introduction picture)

This sun catcher is absolutely beautiful and it's my favorite color pink! I'm looking for the perfect place to hang this in my room.

You know the one things I like about social media? It gives you a chance to interact with people who share your interests. This is one reason why I love Instagram and blogger so much! I met Julia a few months and Instagram has given us the opportunity to become great friends! She is such a beautiful person inside and out that loves her family and those around her. She is truly an example that good hearted people still exist in this world. I want to thank Julia again for sending over these items!

Trilogy Products Review

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples provided by Trilogy. I want to thank Trilogy for sending these products for review. All opinions are 100% my own.

I was recently contacted about reviewing sample products from a New Zealand beauty company called Trilogy. Today I will be sharing my thoughts about a few items that I received. All information is courtesy of
https://www.trilogyproducts.com

1.  Cream Cleanser

Soft, smooth completely clean skin with rosehip, evening primrose, carrot.

This simple one-step cleanser does more than just remove make-up and impurities from face and eyes. Non-drying, it leaves skin feeling smoother, softer and beautifully refreshed.  It's your perfect preparation morning and night.

My Thoughts

I used this to remove my makeup and I really like how easily my makeup came off of my face. Since this was a sample size cleanser I was able to use this cleanser twice. After usage my face clean  and my face didn't feel dry.

2.  Vital Moisturizing Cream

Daily nourishment and hydration with Rosapene, marula, orange flower.

A versatile performance moisturiser for all skin types. Non-greasy and quickly absorbing, it provides immediate nourishment and hydration while helping to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I added this moisturizer to my nightly skincare routine and my face felt so rejuvenated when I woke up. The claims are true this moisturizer is very fast absorbing and non greasy.  The scent is a little strong, but it does fade.

3.  Everything Balm

Beauty multi-tasker for everyone, everywhere with rosehip, echinacea and pawpaw.

Everything Balm fixes everything … use me everywhere … nourishing and protecting for face and body … soothing dry, chapped skin … softening, smoothing and moisturising … lip conditioning … cuticle care … melting massage oil … ideal for the whole family (bubs as well) … perfect for travel…

My Thoughts

Since Winter decided to come back last week lol I used this on my lips. The balm is very hydrating and kept my lips moisturized for most of the day.  I also like to apply this balm on my lips at night before I go to bed.

Have you heard of Trilogy? What are your thoughts about their products?

My Life in February 2017

Hello Everyone!

We all know that February is a short month, but this year is already going by so quickly! Today I have another mostly lifestyle post to share with you. I try to do these post within the first few days of the current month, but hey life happens lol.

Foods

Started the month eating healthy with a salad that I made. I ate salad quite a few times during February.

Super Bowl Sunday food. I decided to make something simple. I'm so happy the Patriots won!

I love Taco Bell and all, but I find making my own better and I get more for my money. This is my version of Nacho Bell Grande

I'm still having sinus problems so I've been drinking hot lemon tea to help reduce throat aches

My guilty pleasure. A Slaw Dog from this restaurant named Sandy's in my City.

Miscellaneous

Pictures from my Valentine's Day post.

I wanted to make one more scarf and hat set for myself for the Winter.

I was super excited when Lion Brand Yarns sent me a few skeins of yarn  that I chose for an upcoming collaboration!

This is a scarf I made for my best friend. He loved it!

Selfies

Another Popcorn Stitch Beanie I made.

My freshly washed natural hair.

No makeup selfie. Always remember to wear your crown.

A Saturday selfie

Lipstick and eyeliner

There you have it, my life in February.  It was a pretty simple month. I stated earlier in the post that I got this post up a little late. I might take a short break soon, but I will be catching up on your blogs and Instagram this week! I also plan on doing a St. Patrick's Day themed makeup look since I do one every year!
