It's Almost Halloween!

Hello Everyone!

Thursday is Halloween! For the past few years I like to create some sort of halloween inspired makeup look, but since having this sinus infection, I doubt I'll create any looks costumes etc. Yes I'm still sick with this sinus infection! Anyway here are 3 looks that I've shared over the years.

I didn't plan on doing anything for Halloween in 2016. At the spur of the moment I created this kitty makeup look.

It's still kind of ironic that I decided to be a bumble bee two years ago since I'm terrified of them lol!

I had a lot of fun creating this look and I made the crown!

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween! Also, I wrote this months Lifestyle post ahead of this post, so don't forget to check that out! My Life in October

My Life in October 2019

Hello Everyone!

Another month is almost done, and that means it's time for a monthly lifestyle post! I want to thank everyone for well wishes on my last post. I still have a sinus infection, but hopefully I will feel better soon!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month You may know that I'm a survivor of domestic violence. In the two years that I left that relationship, I've shared my experience with DV, and how I moved on with my life.

Mental health is another issue that hits close to home. Over the past 6 years I've shared my struggles with depression and anxiety and how I cope. It's not always easy having mental health issues, but I know things get better. Please be kind to others.

October is also a Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My hope is that one day there will be a cure to end this cancer and other illnesses.

A throwback of one my Fall related pictures from last year.

Monthly Lifestyle Posts turns 3!

I remember 3 years ago when I first posted a monthly Lifestyle post. There wasn't a particular reason I chose October, I just went with the current month at the time and wrote a recap. These monthly lifestyle posts are some of my most popular posts! You can check out the links to view my monthly lifestyle posts from the past 3 years under my photos above!

At the Pumpkin Patch

Hello Everyone!

Today I stopped by a pumpkin patch! I didn't stay long and I didn't take any selfies because I'm currently sick with a sinus infection. I wanted to stop by another day, but since it's the end of October Pumpkin Patches around here usually end near Halloween. This is one of the few pumpkin patches that I've seen around here during this time of year.

So many pumpkins!

Today was a good day to visit the pumpkin patch. It was cool and sunny.

I mentioned having a sinus infection and I've been feeling really dizzy. Thankfully the dizziness subsided enough for me to take my photos.

Have you visited a pumpkin patch this season?

Black and White Photography

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone admire black and white photography? Don't get me wrong I love that we have pictures in color. When I was younger I used to look at old black and white photos. I thought how classy and timeless these types of photos looked. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite looks that I've created using the classic filter on my phone.

Clean Beauty at CVS

Hello Everyone!

I've partnered with CVS Beauty for this post for review purposes. I want to thank CVS for sending over these products. All opinions are 100% my own

This month CVS is focusing on clean beauty products. Clean beauty can be described as beauty products that are free of harmful or toxic ingredients. I love that CVS has decided to only sell clean beauty products. I was sent numerous products from CVS's 360 Beauty Line. I've used several 360 Beauty Products in the past and I like the quality of the products I've used.

Beauty 360 Deep Cleaning Pore Strips For Nose, 8CT

Beauty 360 Dual Ended Mask Tool

Pop-arazzi Peel Off Polish, Royal Blue

Can you believe that I have never tried charcoal pore strips before? Sometimes I get small blackheads on my nose which annoys me! Since these are deep cleaning pore strips, I hoping for a reduction in blackheads on my nose. I'm one of these people that love to have skincare accessories especially for my facial masks. Dual ended ended mask tools just make life easier to apply face masks. I'm unsure if Pop-arazzi is a Beauty 360 brand, but I like the quality of these polishes. I have a few in my Collection, but the peel off polish is new to me. Look at that gorgeous blue hue!

Beauty 360 Moisturizing Anti-Wrinkle Plumping Tissue Facial Mask

Beauty 360 Purifying Grapefruit & Charcoal Holographic Sheet Mask

Beauty 360 Brighten & Soothe Peel-Off Face Mask with 24K Gold & Honey, 3.52 OZ

When I started using different facials masks, I never looked back lol. I've heard that masks containg honey are good for the skin.

Beauty 360 Exfoliating Lemon Facial Scrub

I've mentioned numerous times that this past Summer I started noticing fine bumps on my face. I try to exfoliate at least once or twice a week. I'm looking forward to trying this Lemon Facial Scrub. Hopefully this scrub will also help with brightening the hyperpigmentation that I get on my cheeks.

Beauty 360 On-The-Go Blender

I've seen beauty sponges at CVS, but I had no idea about this on the go blender! I'm so glad this blender comes with a travel case!

What are some of your favorite clean beauty products?  Check out your local CVS or cvs.com for these Beauty 360 products.

Hair Washing Day Feat. Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Biotin Hair Products

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post contains PR Samples provided by Palmer's  for review purposes. I would like to thank Palmer's  for sending these products. All opinions are 100% my own. Product information, courtesy of palmers.com

This past Summer heat and humidity left my hair dry and frizzy...more than usual. I recently tried a few new products from Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Biotin hair care. I love cocoa butter and biotin is supposed to be good for your hair. Let's see if these products worked for my hair!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Shampoo

Benefits:

Keeps hair and scalp moisturized in order to achieve optimum length retentionHas color protection & length retention benefitsAddresses breakage, damage, and split endsSulfate & Silicone Free shampoo

Gently moisturize and cleanse with Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Shampoo. Address breakage, damage, and split ends by keeping the hair (and scalp!) moisturized, fortified and healthy in order to achieve optimum growth potential. Cocoa Butter has hair softening properties for healthy shine and its rich moisture shields hair from dryness and over-processing. Biotin supports healthy hair growth, and Quinoa Protein protects the hair shaft from heat damage that can cause breakage. This expert blend retains length for beautiful, long, shiny hair!

Color Safe For All Hair Colors, Curl Patterns and Textures.

No Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Gluten, Dyes, Silicones

My Thoughts

This shampoo is a good cleanser for my hair. I think I used too much shampoo, because it a lot of effort to rinse my hair. I guess that's not always a bad thing. This shampoo lathers well, but it didn't feel that moisturizing.  My hair didn't feel dry, but my hair did look frizzy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention 2 Step Hair Mask

Benefits:

Keeps hair & scalp moisturizes in order to achieve optimal length retentionDeep Conditions, Moisturizes & Seals cuticle for incredible shineLong lasting results for dry, damaged, or color treated hair2 Step Mask in a single use SachetSulfate & Silicone Free

Deeply condition and look in lasting moisture with Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention 2 Step Hair Mask.

Color Safe For All Hair Colors, Curl Patterns and Textures

No Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Gluten, Dyes, Silicones

My Thoughts

I'm a curly haired girl and this hair mask is a quick fix instead of what I was looking for. My hair is thick and curly so I need a little more hair mask than what's in these packs. The products per se aren't bad, and my hair felt soft. I wouldn't call this a deep conditioning mask for my hair though. I would like to see the hair mask come in a jar rather than these packets. I feel with a jar you would get more product for the needs of your hair.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Leave In Conditioner

Benefits:

Addresses breakage, damage, and split endsSulfate & Silicone Free Leave-In ConditionerHas color & length retention benefitsMoisturizing detanglerHeat Protectant

Detangle, moisturize and protect with Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Leave-In Conditioner.

My Thoughts

As I detangled my hair, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of breakage. I'm pretty happy about that. Usually when I wash my hair I have breakage. Detangling my hair wasn't too difficult when I used the leave in conditioner. I'm always looking for a good leave in conditioner that will keep my hair feeling moisturized since my hair is dry, and this product works well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Shine Glaze Serum

Benefits:

Deeply nourishes in order to achieve length retentionSulfate & Silicone Free Shine SerumAdds a Shiny Finish to Dry HairLocks in MoistureColor Safe

Lock in moisture and add a shiny finish to dry hair with Cocoa Butter and Biotin Length Retention Shine Glaze Serum. Address breakage, damage, and split ends by keeping the hair (and scalp!) moisturized, fortified and healthy in order to achieve optimum growth potential. Cocoa Butter has hair softening properties for healthy shine and its rich moisture shields hair from dryness and over-processing. This expert blend retains length for beautiful, long, shiny hair!

No Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Gluten, Dyes, Silicones

My Thoughts

I like that my hair does look shiny when I used this shine glaze serum.  My hair didn't feel greasy,  but the serum does give my hair a healthy looking shine. I didn't want to use to much of this serum, because over usage of serums tend to actually dry my hair by the end of the day. Less is more for my curly hair.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Styling Nectar

Benefits:

Addresses breakage, damage, and split ends to achieve optimal length retentionZero Crunch Weightless Definition GelDefines and provides long lasting holdSilcone Free

Define with lasting hold with Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Styling Nectar, a zero crunch weightless definition gel. Address breakage, damage, and split ends by keeping the hair (and scalp!) moisturized, fortified and healthy in order to achieve optimum growth potential. Cocoa Butter has hair softening properties for healthy shine and its rich moisture shields hair from dryness and over-processing. Color Safe For All Hair Colors, Curl Patterns and Textures!

No Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Gluten, Dyes, Silicones

My Thoughts

I'm so glad this styling nectar doesn't leave my hair feeling crunchy! I usually like to use a gel throughout my curls, and I think I found a new go to gel! My hair is frizzy, and this styling nectar also helps with edge control. I can put my hair in an effortless puff without having to worry about my edges looking frizzy. This gel is also long lasting throughout the day.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Cream Styler

Benefits:

Moisturizes and defines all curly Wash N Go’s, Twist Outs, Braid Outs, Bantu Knots, etc.Addresses breakage, damage, and split endsCreamy Formula for Coil DefinitionSilicone Free Cream Styler

Moisturize and define with Cocoa Butter & Biotin Cream Styler.

Color Safe For All Hair Colors, Curl Patterns and Textures!

No Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Gluten, Dyes, Silicones

My Thoughts

I used this after I did a twist out for my hair, and my curls looked so full and healthy. This is definitely a yay for my hair. After combing through my curls, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of breakage. I like that these Palmer's products help reduce my hear breakage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall I think this is an okay collection. Some products were better than others. If the formula in some of the products were revamped, I feel the products would be better. Two examples of improvement I would like to see include: more moisture in the shampoo, and jar options for the hair mask. I think this is a type of collection that you truly have to base your opinions on your hair type.
