Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review

Hello Everyone!

Now that I finally got my hands on Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette (thanks to my wonderful mama) I can share my thoughts about the palette. I think it's kind of funny that everyone else was able to find these palettes except me! If it's a beauty product out there I can usually find it! Now on the review!

Swatches with Flash

Swatches without Flash

Pros
- Small and convenient
- Decent Pigmentation (for the darker shades and a
  few of the light shades)
- Budget Friendly
- Easy to blend
- Gorgeous shimmer and matte shades
- 2 sponge application brushes in this palette that
   work well
- Minor Fallout

 Cons
- Lacks Pigmentation (for some of the light shades)
- No Mirror

My Thoughts

This palette also has a small amount of fallout and the colors are so easy to blend. That is a major plus because I hate eyeshadow palettes that have a lot of fallout. I really have a love for this palette, but the pigmentation could be better quality. The darker shades show up well. Some of the lighter shades show up, but just like the other three Maybelline palettes I reviewed, you should use a really good eyeshadow primer. So far the only eyeshadow primers I find that works well with these palettes are the NYX Eyeshadow Base in White, and the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk. Using white eyeshadow bases helps bring these colors out well. The color fading isn't too much of an issue for me, it's primarily the some of light shades that can have some fading after about three hours.  I really love the colors in this palette and they're so shimmery with the exception for a few matte shades which I also like. I definitely can see the resemblance between this palette and the Naked 3 palette, some of the colors are similar. I think Maybelline did an excellent job with color selection for The Blushed Nudes Palette and even if you don't like this palette, it only runs about $10.00. This palette has a few cons, but overall I was really pleased with this palette. I didn't get a chance to write the details for my makeup look using this palette for this post, but I will have that up for my next post!

Now that I have all four palettes, you can check out my other reviews in the links below

All In Packaging: Perfume To Go Tutorial and Review

Hello Everyone!

* These products were sent to me by All in Packaging for testing and review purposes. All opinions are 100 % my own

I was recently contacted again by All In Packaging test out a few more of their products. For today's feature, I'm going to show a tutorial and review for this Perfume To Go Dispenser.

Perfume To Go Tutorial

Remove small silicone stopper (my apologies for the blurred close up picture)

Choose a perfume bottle. I chose Victoria's Secret Hevenly

Remove  sprayer top off of the perfume bottle

Place Perfume To Go underneath perfume and pump perfume inside the dispenser.

All finished! I placed the silicone stopper underneath the dispenser once I was done.

My Thoughts

When companies started coming out with  these travel sized perfume dispensers, I was curious about how well these products would work. The Perfume To Go is okay. I was pleased that my perfume didn't leak, and I kept this dispenser in my purse all day.. The name says it all Perfume To Go, but I think the dispenser could have been a little bigger to hold more perfume. I noticed that the Perfume to Go appears to only fit standard sized perfumes. I think that other sized dispensers should be available since all perfumes tubes are different in size.  If you like the convenience of having a quick go to perfume with you, then you'll probably like this product. For my international readers in the United Kingdom you can check out their website at http://www.allinpackaging.co.uk. Even though this company doesn't ship to United States you can still browse the site.

How to Wear a Matte Lip

Hello Everyone!

Me wearing MAC's All Fired Lipstick

To wear a matte lip or not to wear a matte lip? I think anyone who loves lipstick has asked themselves this question at some point or another. As for those who haven't, the first thought that may have come to your mind is that matte lipstick is so drying. Well today, I wanted to share a few tips I have for wearing matte lipstick. Side Note: Yes, I recycled pictures I've used in my previous posts lol

Disclaimer:
My apologies for the missing pictures. My pictures were accidentally deleted off my blog. Please Refer to my Instagram account miss_pilar to view the pictures that were deleted.

What is a matte lipstick?

A matte lipstick is a type of lipstick that usually last all day, has a dry texture, and lacks shine.

1. Prepare your lips (exfoliate)

You can prepare a lip scrub at home: Mix sugar, coconut oil, lemon, and honey. Gently massage your lips with it for couple of minutes, then rinse; you lips will feel soft and smooth. See my Beauty DIY : Homemade Sugar Lip Scrub HERE

2.  Moisturize your lips

A good lip balm is your best friend when wearing a matte lip. Using a lip balm will help create a smooth surface for your matte lipstick. I like to use Nivea Lip Balm especially for MAC's Retro Matte Lipsticks. MAC's Prep+Prime for Lips also works well for moisturizing your lips.

3. Use a lip pencil

I like to wear lip pencils with some of my matte lips. I find by wearing lip liner helps keep my lipstick neat and it helps make my matte lipstick wear even longer during the day. Side note, if you choose to wear a lip pencil with your matte lipstick, you can apply it before or after using a lip balm. I apply my lip pencil before I use a lip balm. Then I add the lip balm on top.

4. Blot your lips

To avoid overly dry looking lips that look caked, blot your lips!

5. Don't rub your lips together!

Sure you can blot your lips, but rubbing them together is a NO NO! I think that is the worst feeling ever is to rub my lips together when I'm using a matte lipstick. Ouch!

6. Add a lip gloss

There are days that I want to wear my lip gloss on top of my matte lipstick. If you can't live without some shine to your lipstick, try a lip gloss on top.

Finding Your Way In Life

Hello Everyone!

Have you ever felt lost? Well if you have, then you may relate to today's post.

Sometimes life can throw curveballs that make us question which direction in life we are going. I know that's how I've felt at times. I learned a long time ago that you can't map out your life. I have a list of goals I set for myself, but I try not make a detailed itinerary for my life because things won't always go as planned.

Every morning that I wake up is a blessing because we all know tomorrow isn't promised. With that being said, everyday you wake up you have a purpose to do something great in life even if you may not know what it is right now.

Flaws and All

Hello Everyone!

For today's inspirational post, I want to discuss flaws. We all have them. If we didn't have flaws we all would be perfect and we know that a perfect human being is non existent.

Flaws are apart of what makes us human. I also think flaws play a major role in self acceptance. I think we all have something that we would like to change about ourselves. For the things we can't change it's important to learn to accept them.

I also think that it's important to have people in your life that accept you for who you are. I know there have been times that I've probably been difficult to love, but people that I'm close to have shown me unconditional love anyway. I guess it's true that people who are truly there for you will still love you tomorrow even if you're acting unfavorably. However, you shouldn't take people's love and kindness for granted. Always remember that you're one of a kind flaws and all.

10 Years Later

Hello Everyone!

Today post is a bit personal. 10 years ago I lost my granddaddy on July 6, 2005. It still seems so surreal that he's been gone for 10 whole years. This is not meant to be a sad post because when I think back on the life my granddaddy had, he was a truly incredible man during his 86 years of life. I remember his stories about WWII and how he was supposed to go to Pearl Harbor, but due to a injury to his side he wasn't unable to go. He used to say that if he would've went, there would be no family because the plane he was supposed to be on got shot down and everyone aboard was killed.

When I think of my Granddaddy I have so many happy memories. One in particular I remember when I was a little girl he used to take me to Mc Donalds and buy me a Happy Meal. Years later when we would reminisce, I reminded him of that and he would jokingly say I spent all his happy dollars lol. I also remember when I was in 5th grade he and my step grandmother surprised me and came to my school to eat lunch with me for Grandparents day. Like I said there so many wonderful memories.

Fast forward 10 years later I still miss my Granddaddy, but when I think about the 19 years he was a part of my life, I'm at peace with knowing that he is no longer here. I can only hope that he would be proud of the woman I turned out to be.

Why I Write Inspirational Posts

Hello Everyone!

Today's post is all about why I write inspirational posts. I write them because I think at some point everyone can benefit from some sort of inspiration. I know that I like to read posts that are uplifting, inspirational, and motivational. You never know what someone is going through, and reading something inspirational may help brighten a person's day. You don't have to go through something to want to feel inspired, and sometimes you can read something to maintain a good mood and positive attitude.

What are your thoughts about inspiration posts in general?
