Projects with Pilar: Popcorn Stitch Beanie with Pom Pom

Hello Everyone!

Two back to back Projects with Pilar? That's right you're eyes aren't deceiving you lol.  I mentioned that lately I've been crocheting a lot and today I wanted to share my latest project, this popcorn stitch beanie with pom pom. I haven't done a popcorn stitch in ages, but I think this beanie turned out pretty well. I forgot how much I like crocheting in this pattern!

Beanie in progress

I started this project on Saturday and finished on Sunday.

I really like how my beanie turned out

Projects with Pilar: Red Crocheted Scarf and Hat Set

Hello Everyone!

I've been crocheting a lot lately and today I wanted to share with you my latest project, a red hat and scarf set. I've done quite a few of these sets over the years, but I never got around to making a red set until now. I think the last time I made a scarf and hat set for myself was over 2 years ago!

Two skeins of yarn is all it took to make my items.

My hat in the making

I was done with crocheting the hat within in 2 days

Time to sew and finish my hat

My crochet ribbed hat completed :)

I was so focused on working on my scarf that I forgot to take a in progress picture lol. Here's the completed scarf. I did this in a half double crochet (ribbed) pattern as well.

Happy with the finished products. I started the projects on January 19th and I finished on January 23rd. The hat was actually quicker to finish than the scarf. I enjoyed crocheting both.

The finished products. I did a mirror selfie to show the length of my scarf. This is the largest pom pom I made so far for a hat.

Happy Crocheting :)

All About Lippies ft. Colorupop and Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm back with a beauty post.  If you you regularly keep up with me on social media, you already know that lipsticks are some of my favorite makeup products. So when I received new lippies for my birthday last month, I was pretty excited!

Colourpop

These Colourpop lipsticks were a gift from one of my best friend from college. That was so sweet of her to send me these!

Blues Baby 5 Piece Liquid Lipstick Set

Ok so I had to contact Colourpop regarding this set. It was just like I predicted that I recieved a bad set. The liquid lipsticks were super runny and it took over 10 minutes to dry. The colors were splotchy when applied on my lips. It was a totally mess. However when I was sent another set, the set was much better quality. The representative that emailed me told me that the lipsticks in the set were a new Formula. I need to them to change back to old formula asap of things like this is going to happen! Like I said the second set was better quality. The lipsticks dried quickly, and my lipstick didn't look as splotchy. I'm really glad things turned out alright because I'm looking forward to using these lipsticks. It's safe to say I love the replacement set.

Love Bug (UML)

Omgosh I absolutely love Love Bug! A few months ago when  Colourpop discontinued ItsMyRayeRaye's Collection I was a little sad because I wanted to pick up another stingRAYE liquid lipstick. Good things comes to those who wait because Love Bug is so gorgeous and it's similar to StingRAYE so it's a win win situation lol.

Me wearing Love Bug. I love this shade of lipstick!

Viper (UML)

I've been wanting to try viper as well. I love wearing dusty rose shades of lipsticks especially during the Winter and I think this a beautiful lipstick.

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss Set

My Godmother is truly awesome for getting me this Lip gloss set! My Godmother loves shopping at Victoria's Secret as well lol. I haven't used a Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in ages. I don't know why I stopped using these lipsticks glosses because I really like them!

I really like that these lipsticks glosses are pigmented, and they're flavored! The Haute Cocoa reminds of a tootsie roll. These glosses are good to wear alone or on top of lipsticks. The only thing I suggest is that you don't overdue it with these glosses unless you want your lip gloss to look and feel sticky on your lips. A little gloss goes a long way lol. I almost forgot that some of these glosses contain glitter and others are plain glosses. I have to admit I love the glitter glosses too!

What lippies have you been using lately? What are your favorite lipsticks?

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Indulgent Coconut Oil Body Wash

Hello Everyone!

* Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Palmer's for review purposes. I want to thank Palmer's for sending this product. All opinions are 100% my own.

Today I have a quick review on this Coconut body wash from Palmer's. I love Coconut scents, so I when I received this product I couldn't wait to use this body wash.

Description:

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Indulgent Coconut Oil Body Wash contains pure Coconut Oil and Monoï to hydrate and indulgently pamper your skin.

My Thoughts

Let's talk about the scent, it is very strong. I have to admit it's a little overwhelming for me. I've been using this body wash especially when the weather is cooler if my skin is dry. I like how this body wash hydrates my skin. Coconut oil is so good for your skin and this body wash helps soothe any eczema issues that I may on my elbows. The scent may be really strong, but the benefits of this body wash are worth being a part of my skincare routine.

Have you tried this body wash from Palmer's?

Bath and Body Works SAS Winter 2016/2017

Hello Everyone!

It's that time of year again! The SAS at Bath and Body Works! I used my birthday gift card to pick up a few things:)

As you can tell from the bag, I only picked a few items from the sale.

Sun-Ripened Raspberry Body Cream and Body Mist

I purchased the Sun-Ripened Raspberry body wash last Summer during the SAS, but for some reason I didn't get the lotion or body mist. This scent smells so good. If you've ever used Strawberries and Champagne from Victoria's Secret this scent reminds of that.

Vanilla Bean Noel Body Cream and Shower Gel

I have mixed feelings about this scent. I've always thought that Vanilla Bean Noel Candle smelled like a sweeter warmer version of cocoa butter. I still think that, but this has a slight woodsy scent. I'm mainly wanted this to use these products for my night time skincare routine. The woodsy scent does tend to fade, so I probably will keep it using it.

Waikiki Beach Coconut 3 Wick Candle and Mango Mandarin Shower Gel

I was so happy when I spotted this Waikiki Beach Coconut Candle! I love this scent. I really hope BABW brings this scent back for the Summer! I also picked up another one of my favorites Mandarin Mango!

Did you get anything from the SAS at Bath and Body Works?

Maybelline The Graffiti Nudes Palette

Hello Everyone!

I feel like such a negligent blogger lol. I realized that I briefly talked about this palette on Instagram during the end of Summer last year, but I didn't write a review! Well here we are today. Better late than never right?!

A selfie when I first got this palette last August

One of my favorite looks to create for Summer

My Thoughts

This palette is one of my favorites so far out of the other Maybelline Nudes Palettes. I love the pigmentation of the shadows. In my opinion there aren't any transition shadows in this palette, but on the flip side at least all the colors are gorgeous that consist of Matte and shimmery shades. When I use NYX Eyeshadow Base in White or Pearl, my eye makeup lasts for about 7 to 8 hours without fading or creasing.

I swatched each shadow without primer on my arm so you can see the true color of each shadow, but the colors really pop when you apply a white eyeshadow base underneath the shadows. I was pleasantly surprised that I experience minor fallout when using these shadows, and the shadows are easy to blend. I really don't have any complaints with this palette, so if you're looking for a bright inexpensive palette to add your collection, you may want to give the Graffiti Nudes Palette a try!

Maybelline The 24k Nudes Palette

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm going to share my thoughts on Maybelline's latest palette release, The 24k Nudes Palette. I didn't even know about this palette until last month. I think the original release for this palette was supposed to be in January, but my awesome mom found this last on the and gave it to me for a Christmas present :) In speaking of awesome moms, my mom's birthday was this past Sunday :)

Neutral Eyes and Berry Lips

A soft Makeup Look

My Thoughts

I'm a little torn on my feelings on this palette. I really love the colors, but these shadows aren't that photo friendly. As you can tell, you probably can see the shadows better in my second picture better than the first picture. Maybelline stated that the formula in the 24k Nudes Palette is supposed to better than the previous Nudes Palettes that have been released. I will admit that the formula feels softer and the shadows feel creamier, but some of the shadows still lack pigmentation. I think that this palette is great for creating a soft makeup look rather than a makeup look that is darker or smokey. I can see myself creating a lot of difference soft eye makeup looks with this palette especially with the shimmery shadows. I haven't created a Smokey Eye yet, but based on my swatches I think I could maybe create a soft Smokey eye?!  I think that I'm going to put that on my list of makeup looks to create.

I used MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly as eyeshadow base and I also used Colourpop Hanky Panky as a transition color since there are no transitions colors in this palette. The shadows wear well throughout the day except I noticed that my makeup started to fade about 5 hours later. My eye makeup was still noticeable, but not as noticeable as I would like. If you're looking for a palette that is going to let you create dark intense Eye makeup looks, you might want to skip this one, but If you want to create soft Eye makeup looks with soft/creamy shadows then you may want to add this to your collection. This is a palette about personal preference. I like this palette and I can see some improvements with the formula, but I still think some of the shadows could use a little more intensity.

Do you own this palette? What are your thoughts? Thanks for stopping by my blog!
