Yankee Candle Fall Haul 2018

Hello Everyone!

Today I bring you my Yankee Candle Fall Haul 2018.! Yes I'm well aware Fall isn't here yet, but I'd thought I'd get started with this haul since the Fall Candles have taken over! I'm a little excited to share these hauls because this is the first time I've actually posted a Fall Candle Haul featuring pumpkin scented candles! (I also have a Bath & Body Works Candle Haul coming soon) Many of you are aware my dislike for pumpkin foods lol. Well these are candles and not food, and I have to say I really like a few pumpkin scents!

Cranberry Chutney

About This Fragrance

A delicious reminder of Thanksgiving dinner…tangy, fresh cranberries with orange zest and raisins.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Ripened Raspberry, Strawberry Leaf 
Mid: Cranberry, Black Cherry 
Base: Iris, Orange Flower

My Thoughts

I really love Cranberry Chutney! This was one of my favorite candles during the Fall and Winter last year. I like that this candle isn't overly sweet, and the throw is pretty good. As you see I have four of these candles because I love the scent so much!

Sugared Cinnamon Apple

About This Fragrance

Scrumptious cinnamon apple with a taste of whipped vanilla frosting.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Apple Slices
Mid: Cinnamon Cider, Sugar
Base: Fresh Vanilla, Nutmeg, Crushed Clove

Top note is the initial impression of the fragrance, middle note is the main body of the scent and base is its final impression.

First Impressions 

I'm on the fence about Sugared Cinnamon Apple. I barely smell a sugar scent. This is more of a cinnamon apple scented candle. I do like the scent, but I'm just not crazy about it on a cold sniff. I smell more of a spice scent than a sweet scent. Hopefully my expectations will be exceeded once I burn this candle.

First Impressions

On a cold sniff this candle smells like a true Macintosh Apple. It's not a sweet apple scent, but more of a fresh apple scent. I smell a slight cinnamon scent mixed with sugar, but I mainly smell apple. I don't get too much of a vanilla scent, but that can change once I start will burning this candle. Some candles have a tendency to smell different once they're burning.

About This Fragrance

A mouthwatering temptation of vanilla cake, cinnamon, sweet cream and pumpkin.

First Impressions

This candle smells amazing! I love the scent! Personally I don't smell much of a pumpkin scent or cinnamon scent, but more of a vanilla cream scent with a hint of spice. All the scents blend well together making a sweet scented Fall candle. Luscious is a perfect word to describe this candle.

As you can see 3 of these candle scents are new in my collection, so I only could write up a first impressions post (except for Cranberry Chutney). Hello Everyone!

August has been a pretty good month. I feel like I got a lot of things done, and I'm starting to feel better emotionally. See Counseling Post If you've been following my posts this month, you've seen my Fall Preview Posts for 2018. They're so many wonderful Fall products displayed in stores! It's hard to believe that Fall is let's than one month away!

Foods

Why haven't I tried these popsicles before now?! They're so good!

At 60 calories per popsicle, no complaints here. These popsicles are made with real fruit or fruit juice. 

These are pretty good as well.

The slender popsicles are only 40 calories.

Hello Everyone!

Good Morning Sunrise!

Anyone who lives in South Carolina, will probably agree with me that the Summers here are extremely hot and humid. In my opinion August has to be the worst month for the heat, and almost every August I tend to get sick from allergies and sinuses. This year is no different lol.

There's a joke I've heard quite a few times, if you live in South Carolina, you know that our Summer starts sometime in April. I'm still asking myself where was Spring this year? It feels like Winter went straight into Summer.  On those occasions it rains and there's low humid, the rain can be quite nice and calming.

Outside of the unbearable heat, I do enjoy these Summer Days. I live in a state that weather is absolutely beautiful on sunny days, and just like the sunrise, the sunsets are just as breathtaking. Very calming and beautiful sunsets. Sometimes I can look outside my patio, and see the orange and purple colors across the sky as the sun sets for the day. On this particular day, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the sunset. As you can see in the last picture, it's still very bright outside and it was almost 8:30 pm. I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer!

This heat and humidity has really been tough on my skin this Summer. Typically I don't have too many skin related issues except if the weather is extremely hot or extremely cold. I've experienced dry skin, breakouts, and the eczema on my elbows has caused dryness and flakiness as well. Derma E is one of my holy grail brands that I use to maintain healthy skincare. These products are 100% vegan and cruelty free. Today I'm excited to share my thoughts about these two products that I've been using!

Derma E Very Clear Acne Cleanser

Description

My Thoughts

As I mentioned in my intro, Summer hasn't been very kind to my skin this year! My face is usually oily during the Summer, but the heat has been so bad here even my face has been dryer that normal which I think has caused some breakouts.  I've only been using this cleanser twice a day for the past few days (in the morning and at night) and it has helped reduce acne. This cleanser is very moisturizing and it lathers well when I cleanse my face. I'm glad this cleanser is hydrating because my skin has been in need of rejuvenation! Ladies if you're anything like me, you experience breakouts on your face before your period. This cleanser clears those breakouts for me as well.

I'm not a fan of the scent. This is one of those type scents that I can't quite my finger on what I'm actually smelling, but I know I don't like it. I can tolerate the scent because this cleanser works so well!

Psorzema Cream

This deeply moisturizing cream safely and effectively relieves scaly, flaky and itchy dry skin associated with Psoriasis and Eczema. It absorbs easily and gently calms and soothes hot, irritated skin. This product is made with a safe and effective blend of herbal extracts and skin vitamins such as Neem, Burdock, Bearberry and Vitamins A and E to help soften and soothe dry, irritated, scaling skin. It penetrates deeply to help reduce redness and encourage healthy skin. This pleasant moisturizing formula does not contain steroids nor any coal or pine tars. For use on the scalp, in the evening, apply to affected areas using a cotton swab. Put a shower cap on to protect your sheets and clothing, and leave the cream on overnight. In the morning, wash and condition hair as normal. This may be used as often as needed.

My Thoughts

Two words for this product...SIMPLY WONDERFUL! I use this cream for the eczema on my elbows and within a day I noticed a difference! Since I've experience extreme dryness on my elbows I applied this cream 3 times a day for the first few days to restore moisture. After that I've use this cream twice a day. The issue with eczema is that you should try to keep your skin moisturized. I don't have eczema badly, but my elbows can become really dry at times which can cause discomfort. This cream is so soothing on my elbows and it reduces discomfort. I love that this cream is unscented. If you have eczema minor or major, you should try to stay clear of scented lotions and creams since the ingredients can cause irritation. This Psorzema cream isn't cure to stop skin issues, but it helps control my eczema symptoms. I don't have psoriasis, but this cream can be used for both psoriasis and eczema.

Hello Everyone!

Recently a new Lowes Foods opened in my city (there are 3 locations in my area within 20 to 30 minutes away from my home) and I wanted to check it out, so my mom and I decided to go this morning.

We got to Lowes shortly after the store opened around 6:30 am

Time to get a few groceries

This was different and creative to have inside the store. A calender full of events. 

As soon as I went to the produce section, I could smell fresh fruits and vegetables. 

I could also smell the pungent smell of fresh cheeses lol

I just walked away from these cookies lol. If you're wondering, I walked away from the macadamia nut cookies. They looked and smelled delicious! How cute is the packaging?!

I typically get lunchmeat from the deli. In my opinion Board's Head Turkey, and White American Cheese makes great sandwiches!

Overall I really like Lowes Foods. In my opinion it's not like a typical grocery store. I like that the produce section reminds me of a Farmer's Market. I didn't pick up any produce this trip, but I plan to do so in the near future. The bakery and deli sections were creative in design and packaging of foods. The whole store was creative in design and features. Some of the items were a little pricey, but not too bad. The store had good sales, and with the use of the discount card, and couponing, you can save even more. I definitely plan on shopping at Lowe's Foods again!
